Hi Ladies, first post for me and slightly nervous, just wondering what happens at your first IVF consultation mine and my husbands is tomorrow after a long wait for a referral? Is it just a chat or will they do any bloods or tests? Just want to be mentally prepared xx

Hey! They'll usually check your medical history and etc, do blood tests and a scan. Then after the results you can discuss the treatment plan. Hope it helps xxx

Thank you for your reply, a big help ๐Ÿ™ Will it be an internal scan? I suppose each persons experiences can be different, will the blood test be for FSH levels? Sorry so many questions Xx

Yes, vaginal ultrasound. I think they check everything through blood test x

Consultation went well and seems we are on track to finally start our IVF journey. No scans or bloods were done today and only had BMI and blood pressure took same for the hubby (although Iโ€™ve previously had bloods, plus a dye test and tubes checked along with a laparoscopy in January) guessing thatโ€™s why no further investigations where done? So now to wait for an appointment with the nurse to be shown how to inject myself and finish paperwork. Such a mix of emotions ๐ŸŒธ

I'm glad it went well ๐Ÿ˜ I can relate to how you're feeling - our drugs arrived on Friday and felt totally overwhelmed, a little sad and excited all at the same time! It's crazy.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for your nurses appointment. Take care of yourself and good luck ๐Ÿ€
