New to this ....: Hi there I'm Amy and... - Fertility Network UK
New to this ....
Hi Amy, my name is Terri and I’m 31 and I discovered last year that I have low AMH for my age of 6.1. They collected 7 eggs from me and 4 of them were fertilised. I had a round of IVF in October/November 2017 and I’m now 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant. All the best xx
Hi Hun,
Sorry to hear you are finding it lonely, it is tough. I am fairly local to you so feel free to message me although my situation isn't quite the same but im still around to talk to - we are awaiting a follow up appointment in Kingston as unfortunately our first round of ICSI failed.
FC you have a successful journey xx
Hello Aimskidd! Welcome to the forum and welcome to a forum that has many women with low AMH. I think mine is about 0.4. To be honest I’ve given up remembering it now because with really poor quality eggs we have a less than 1 or 2% chance of using my eggs and it being successful.
I posted on someone’s post last night.... remember... it’s quality not quantity. I managed 7 follicles in stimming. And we got three out of that. Had my eggs not been so poor quality we’d have been fine. Keep positive; keep coming here. We’re all able to give lots of lovely advice and big virtual hugs when needed x
Hello Amy, I am 36 with 0.1 AMH. I had 7 follicules on the last scan. I started taking DHEA 75 mg 2 weeks ago and will start my first cycle tomorrow. My expectation are very low but I am thinking to divert quickly to modified natural cycle IVF and maybe on the long run ( what is left from it) I might get some eggs one way or another. My doctor said that they do not believe that low AMH reflect bad quality. The age is the main drive, low AMH reflect low reserve. I'm trying to remember that I am healthy and that the worst case scenario isn't so bad. There will always be a solution along the road. Low AMH is a rough start but if you have an egg, AHM does not affect adherence and development in the womb, so the rest might look like a walk in the park compared to other fertility issues. I am remembering myself to stay joyful and not make my life and my partner life miserable. XXX
Hi Amy! I'm also new to this, only found the forum about a month ago and I think this is my third post...
I'm 38 and waiting just got the green light from my consultant to proceed to start IVF yesterday, after more than a year of tests, operations and more tests.
We got our initial referral to the fertility clinic at St Mary's Hospital in London from my GP in October 2016, and going though all the tests with several months waiting times has felt like we'll never get to this point, but it's finally arrived so even though I'm a bit scared I'm just most of all happy to be here.
I also have a low AMH level of 3.8 pmol/l, and in addition my partner has low morphology sperm at 3%, so we definitely need IVF (probably ICSI), but the team we've been seeing have been very encouraging, positive and supportive all along, and we're determined to try everything we can, so I feel hopeful at this point.
Do you know when you'll be starting your IVF? We're only just waiting to have our first consultation about starting treatment, hopefully in 2 weeks time.
Sorry this is not a success story (at least not yet!) but I hope you the best of luck with it all, and please let me know if I can help in any way.
Awww hello Hun.
Thank you for your reply.
We had our initial consultation on the 29th December. At this consultation they then book you in for the long implications appointment . The implications appointment is with a nurse who explains everything.
I have to just have a trail this week as previous abnormal smear. They will just check my cervix and that when possible get a little catheter down.
Then I have to wait for my next period. Hopefully starting short protocol early Feb.
Let me know how u get on. It feel like quite a lonely road.
We can do this ❤️

Thanks for your reply. So happy to hear it sounds like things are moving on for you - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to be able to start in February! Likewise, please keep me updated about how you're getting on. Having other people in the same situation to talk to helps so much.
And I couldn't agree more - we can definitely do this <3

Also, I just found a very interesting article online on improving egg quality - it's called 'How to increase your egg health in 90 days' and written by Hethir Rodriguez, so if you do a search using those parameters you should hopefully be able to find it.
I'm not sure if we're allowed to paste links here which is why I'm not sharing the link, but I could try to do that via PM if you can't find it using a search engine.
Welcome to the forum . In same age with low amh too. Trying for my second got nearly 2 yrs, no luck yet but still trying! Good luck xx
Thanks for the reply. I should be starting my first short cycle in the next few weeks x
