Hi everyone,

I am new to this network and haven’t joined an online forum before. Just thought I’d share my story so far, as support and advice during the low times always helps.

I’m 35 and will have been married for 5 years this August.

We’ve been trying TTC for 3 and a half years now. About 2 years naturally, then three rounds of IUI, 1st IVF cycle last year and just finished my 2nd IVF attempt with a FET, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. My husband has a low sperm count, but other than that, nothing else has been identified as a potential issue for why we can’t conceive.

Generally we stay positive and focus on the good things about our life and things that are working in our favour (we still have 7 good quality embryos frozen). However, it can be so frustrating and we find it hard not knowing if/when it’s going to ever happen for us.

First IVF attempt last year went really smoothly - good egg collection and 16 fertilised (9 made it to 4 day blastocyst), I had the endometrial scratch as part of a trial, got pregnant with first hcg test result being high. 2nd hcg wasn’t high enough and after weeks of waiting, more blood tests and scans it was confirmed as an unviable pregnancy.

Second IVF attempt with a frozen embryo, was a completely different story, as I didn’t even get past the first hurdle, with a negative pregnancy test and my period following shortly after, once I’d come off the tablets and pessaries.

Now gearing myself up for 3rd cycle. Would be interested to hear others experiences. I want to try anything different which may help, acupuncture I’ve heard is good.

Welcome to the forum. I hope things get well on this 3rd cycle. Yes, acupuncture does really help. I myself opted for it. Both you and your husband should go for it. Also, make sure that your husband is eating a proper diet. he should avoid caffeine and alcohol intake. Sending baby dust your way.

Thank you! Will try and find an acupuncturist ready for the next FET. We’re both doing everything we can to improve our health and fertility. Neither of us consume any caffeine or drink alcohol. We’ve started eating organic food and using natural toiletries too. Will try anything!
