We are looking at having Egg Donation abroad in Spain in the next couple of months. I know the law over here requires the clinic to offer you to have counselling which I whole heartedly agree with. However in Spain it is not mandatory. I am still wanting for us to have some implication counselling but can’t seem to find where to begin to find this sort of counselling. The counsellors I have found on the web tend to be just infertility. I can be based in and see them in Cardiff and surrounding areas. Reading, Berkshire and it’s surrounding areas.
I’ve been onto the dcnetwork.org but they only seem to offer workshops costing hundreds. Which as I’m sure all of you know the costs of any fertility treatment is an arm and an leg, so another £500 + is going to be out of our price range.
Which I know sounds crazy considering what we are about to go through, but if it’s not affordable to us, it’s not.
Any help would be appreciated. Please feel free to PM me

If you look on the British Infertility Counselling Association website - bica.net - they have a list of trained counsellors. They specialise in fertility and are the people who are trained to do implications counselling in UK fertility clinics. Some of them offer Skype counselling so geographical location may not matter. They are definitely the best people to turn to for this.
Try your local NHS fertility clinic. They normally offer private sessions too.
I will definitely look at the NHS clinics. I know Zita West Clinic well, as I’ve been to them in the past. I’m back in contact with them and I know their counsellor comes highly recommended, I was just trying to keep the costs 💰 down.
I’ll go back onto BICA, as when I scanned the options it didn’t seem very clear as to who specialised in implication/ donor.
Thanks all, great help. Love this forum
Doesn't your clinic in Spain offer counselling as part of the package? It's definitely worth checking that out x
I guess, I was concede with the possibility of the language barrier. Some of the nurses speak English but not 💯 % fluid in their delivery. Absolutely fine for treatment though. I will ask them when we go on Tuesday. Thank you 🙏🏽
