They will probably do tests on you both. Maybe bloods for you or a scan at a certain stage of your cycle. Maybe talk about how he can improve his swimmers and what they think the next steps should be

Each CCG have specific criteria that you have to meet to be entitled to funding for IVF, and the number of cycles they fund varies by area.

It is one of the big injustices that those with fertility issues face, what you are entitled to is pretty much governed by where you live.

Good luck

Sorry, I hit send before I had finished typing 😳

I meant to say good luck with your appointment and you can also check out the fertility fairness website, which has collated details of the criteria for each CCG.

You may find that you are not referred straight for IVF dependant on test results, as there are other fertility treatments that they may try first.

Hiya, I had some blood tests done by our GP over several cycles to check my hormone levels before we were referred as well as my husbands semen check. At the clinic they went through a back ground health check, I had an internal scan and an X-ray before they decided which route we should go. We’re currently having IUI treatments, if unsuccessful then we’ll move on to IVF. The nurse and Dr at our clinic have been really helpful and good at explaining each stage so far, I can also call them if I have any questions. Hope that’s useful xx
