Help! I am doing IVF and am currently down regulating with buserelin. I have mild endometriosis and adenomyosis. My period just started and as usual it is agony but the IVF clinic told me I could not take Mefenamic Acid like I usually do, only paracetamol. I am in so much pain. Does anyone know if I can take co-dydramol without it affecting the IVF?
Clinic is closed now so can't ask them.

I have really painful periods and had to stop taking naproxen on my cycles. I got my gp to prescribe me codine as this is the only thing that touches it and my clinic said that this was fine to take during my cycles. I've stuck with the codine between and after cycles also. I hope that you have managed to find some pain relief that you are able to take. Good luck xx
I had this problem too.. All I was allowed was paracetamol or codeine. I had no codeine so just spent 2 days in absolute agony, it was by far the worst part of my ivf cycle so far. I really hope you've found something to help xo
Hey lovely, sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I'm in the same position, started down reg and have severe endometriosis. Buserelin has made my period drag for so many days. I've only been taking paracetamol but actually I've only been taking paracetamol since my surgery. I was having so much ibuprofen before that but then I learnt that it can affect your ovulation and other things so I've been getting used to taking just paracetamol. Hot water bottle helps, and I just put up with the rest.
Hope you feel better soon, and hope the IVF goes well too. Is it your first time too? X
