Progesterone side effects

Has anyone else suffered side effects on progesterone pessaries? I’m currently 8dp5dt and for the first few days all I had was abdominal cramps, a little bit of bloating and constipation, and tiredness. Now I can add severe cramps and diarrhoea to the list. And I’m now so bloated I look about 4 months pregnant. Has anyone else had this? 😥

When I was on the pessaries I was also super bloated and constipated. I ended up eating prunes and wasabi chick peas to help things to move. I also took coconut water but dunno if that did anything.

I didn't have diarrhea though but it is among one of the many side effects I think.

Thanks for your reply! I’ve been eating prunes too....worried I maybe ate too many 😳 I’m just stressing because I’m two days away from testing and I’m worried that I just don’t feel right. I haven’t felt physically right since the EC, but I’m just hoping that it’s all down to the progesterone pessaries. They are evil!

I had exactly the same. Sounds like it’s quite common to have those side effects. I took stuff for the constipation, just be careful not to have too much and have the opposite problem! X

I’m beginning to think I may have overdone it on the prunes 😳😫😂 but it’s good to know others have felt similar. The 2ww is hard enough with feeling physically a bit off. Just makes you worry even more about what’s going on inside 😥

I have just started the bullets of evilness again and I had such bad constipation last time that it’s worrying me already. I think I will get some laxatives in just in case. Hope you feel better soon xx

I’m making it til after lunch each day then I feel so constipated it’s sore to walk. I was worried about taking laxatives so have been eating prunes, which have helped except for the other day - now convinced I ate too many 😂 I think just prunes and lots of water should help. Hope you feel better soon too! They really are bullets of evilness!

Hi Busterkitten, I took pressaries with my first cycle and was so constipated and felt so awful even 3 months later I still had issues down there. I've since switched to the progesterone injections. They go in the bum and are uncomfortable but no side effects and SO much better. I'd never switch back to pressaries!
