Back on track...I hope!

Hey everyone!

We’ve had a bit of a break from the ol’ IVFing (I struggled after the OHSS, feeling slightly ‘woe is me’ to be honest, so I didn’t want to get back in the game until I was sure I was ready).

Anyway, I’ve pulled on my big girl pants and decided it feels like the right time to go for our FET. My boyfriend had been brilliant, bless his heart and said he’s ready whenever I am 😊

So, after a lot of crying, a lot of anxiety, and a lot of box sets (you’ve got to take your mind off it all eh? Also, I’d highly recommended ‘People Just Do Nothing’ on iPlayer, we loved it!) I’m ready.

Luckily my readiness has coincided with my period arriving today (my ovaries apparently know me better than I do) so I’ve phoned the clinic and they’ve said to count tomorrow as day one and then start ovulation tests on day 8.

Now I turn to you lovely lot! We’ve decided to transfer both our embryos (unfortunately they’re not great quality so our doctor has recommended popping both back in) and it’s a semi medicated cycle so I’ll be on Lubion injections and Cyclogest pessaries. So, what can I expect now? When will transfer happen? Will the addition of Lubion turn me psycho? And am I silly for making sure I’ve had my lady garden all nice and waxed before we start this whole rigmarole again?!

I’ve never had a frozen transfer before so can’t advise on what happens next but I just wanted to say good luck and welcome back 💖 it sounds like your boyfriend is really supportive, I wish you both all the best. Keep us updated x

They will monitor you until the lining is right and then arrange transfer. It's so much easier than fresh. They will also need to suppress any ovulation you might have. The clinic should provide you with your "protocol" sheet which will explain it. I usually have two scans and one bloods.

Scan 1 = has anything weird happened since last time that we should be aware of?

Scan 2 = is lining triple layer and st least 8mm thick

Bloods = are progesterone / eostrogen at right level.

Then you pop into the surgery, have the poppets returned to snuggle in and go home.

Then you start your wait and try to keep sane, have a bit of a loss of confidence / meltdown around 7 days in, then we all give reassurance and send positive vibes, then its test day.

Thanks for your reply Camillage! When you say suppress any ovulation do you mean with medication? We’ve been told the only medication I’d be on is the progesterone?

Hehe! I know the feeling of the lost confidence and meltdown! We didn’t even manage to get to test day on our first cycle so I think my meltdown will come sooner this time!

Yeah, after the OHSS I wanted to avoid any type of medication as much as possible!
