Hi everyone
I just miscarried in the 6th week after a BFP. Anyone out there had a similar experience? What did your OBGYN say the reason could have been?? Is that the embryo or the failure to implant or something else?
Hi everyone

I’m sorry your pregnancy resulted in miscarriage. I’ve had three myself and know how devastating they are. Apparently one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage and most of these are down to chromosomal abnormalities. Sometimes there are other underlying reasons but the nhs won’t investigate further until you’ve experienced three consecutive losses. Sometimes it just boils down to plain bad luck (no one ever wants to hear that I know). I hope you’re able to get some answers at your follow up appointment xx
I'm really sorry to read this. Same happened to me last year in March after IVF. The consultant at the clinic labelled it a "chemical pregnancy" so very early miscarriage and just said that it was within normal statistics that I should have had one, that its really common for early losses like this to happen and it doesn't mean that I couldn't get pregnant again. Well, he was right, as with the second try of a frozen transfer I am now 34 weeks pregnant. I know it's so hard to try to understand these things we can't explain. I went to the follow up appointment with 3 pages of "what ifs" questions, was it something I did? Was my thyroid medication wrong? Does my womb reject embryos? It's sadly just something that happens and we won't know why, but please don't give up. Take time to grieve and I hope you build yourself up again for anther go. Sending love xxx
Thanks littleblue
Hi Draglife, Im so sorry to hear you’ve had a miscarriage, i too had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and was advised that miscarriage often happens due to chronosomanal abnormalities, this is true of non-ivf pregnancies too.
I had a low egg reserve and am perimenapausal so I’ve been advised to try taking some supplements; dhea before my next round. Though, you may not have this problem. Unfortunately, nothing is guaranteed, but I realise how heartbreaking it is. Mine happened just before Christmas, and it knocked me sideways for such a long time.
Thanks for the support. When did you get your period after the m/c?I still have the brown discharge for the past 4.5 days but no red blood.
It can take a couple of weeks unfortunately x
I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks embryo was measuring at 6 weeks, it was really sad, it took me nearly 2-3 weeks to start spotting. I tried my best to find a reason to the miscarriage but no one had the answer I wanted to hear. It is sometimes what happens can be for many reasons but we just don’t know. This does not mean it will happen again but i feel so scared to try again incase it does my heart fills with pain. I hope you are ok and have the love around you to heal , look after yourself.
