Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted on here... I'm currently waiting to start a FET cycle, but wondered if anyone has any advice about provera.... (There's tmi in here sorry!)

Background: My periods are normally a bit all over the place (they used to be non existent or every 6 months but I had a baby using IVF treatment nearly 2 years ago on our 2nd attempt, and they are now kind of every 2 months ish). I have PCOS and on trying we have been advised by docs we need to try IVF again if we want to have another baby...

I started provera 13 days ago (for a week) on 31 Dec 2018, to kick start my periods (so I can start down regs on day 1 of full bleed). I had already started spotting on 21st-26th Dec but this was so light and pretty much old blood which is unusual for me. The provera stopped on sat 5th Jan and I started spotting old blood on 8th. The spotting then got lighter (and only really when I wiped) since (at best very light pink and watery but nothing in the pad). I rang the clinic yesterday (Fri 11th Jan) as it seems to be stopping...

They said to go in for a scan on Fri 18th if nothing has happened before as there may be no blood to actually 'bleed' in which case I can start my jabs.

Yesterday afternoon I went for my 2nd accupuncture visit (this cycle) and she worked on moving blood and encouraging a period... I had some fresh blood when I wiped last night and this morning was definitely the most I've had so far when wiping (fresh, dark and red, but still very little in pad).

My question is... I think I'm now coming on but am not 100%... As I'm supposed to inject on day 1, and I'm not sure if this is day 1, what do I do!? It's now the weekend so its not easy to get hold of anyone at the clinic πŸ™ˆ

I'm pretty sure I took provera before on a previous IVF cycle and came on within days... IVF... Welcome back to limbo land!! πŸ˜‚

Thanks for reading this far if you have, and good luck to everyone on here!! Xx

TBH, I’d wait and call the clinic on Monday. It doesn’t sound like a proper period yet - it’s not β€˜full-flow’ so waiting until Monday to see if it fully starts or to get advice would make more sense :) Good luck!

Ps. On my last attempt, I started drugs on day 2 because that’s when I could confirm things with the clinic. xx

Thanks for the advice Karen! I've since started properly (sods law!) (Why are our bodies always contradicting themselves!? So am going to start injections tomorrow 😁 xx

Excellent!! Our bodies are hard work sometimes πŸ™„ I remember when I was doing my very first IVF cycle, was desperate to start, and my period was 14 days late!! Completely ridiculous and so stressful - it’s like my reproductive system was mocking me πŸ˜‚ Good luck! Kx

πŸ˜‚ its sods law isn't it! I was supposed to start my FET in September but my period arrived a month early when we were on holiday (away from meds!) (I normally have a period every 2 months).. I had to laugh!! X
