We had our first appointment at the early pregnancy clinic today. After three failed rounds of IVF treatment with PGS over the past year, we had a surprise two weeks ago in the form of a positive pregnancy test (natural conception). It is our first pregnancy in two years - we have previously conceived and miscarried, 6 times in total.
The clinic has offered us early scans due to the previous history of miscarriage, and today they were able to see a pregnancy sac and yolk, but no embryo - even though I'm 6 weeks 4 days since my last period. It sounded like what they were seeing might have been normal for the 5 to 6 week stage, but by now they'd normally see a small embryo too? They told us to come back in a week... now how to get through this week without being frantic with worry?! Has anyone else been told similar and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? xx

I don’t think there’s an easy way to get through the waiting. It’s just a case of keeping busy and try to grin and bare it 😕 Wishing you lots of luck for your next scan xx
Thank you Tugsgirl, I think you're right and there's no easy way. I'll just have to try and distract myself as much as possible between now and then, and know that if it's meant to be it will be xx
Thank you Bee2004, I'm trying to let go and have faith that things will work out as they are meant to xx
Congratulations on the pregnancy, only advice is to try somehow to stay positive, also do some things together that you love. I am sure that Mantaray75 had something similar in terms of not seeing something early on and is now very pregnant? Xx
Thank you Camillage, and also for the suggestion to read Mantaray75's posts, they are so positive and encouraging. Maybe I can feel positive about our next scan - only a few more days to go xx
Congratulations on your surprise BFP, I’ve got everything crossed for you. I can’t offer any advice re waiting for the next scan beyond one hour at a time, one day at a time, and slowly the time will pass and it will be scan time. Good luck xx
