Differences in response to injections?

Does anyone have experience with ovulation induction with Gonal-F? Last month I had a really good follicle growing in only 11 injections, my 7 day of injection scan showed already a 16mm follicle.

I am just coming from my 7 day scan and I have only 11mm which is kind of nothing. I am already devastated and giving up any hope that this cycle will work at all. I had 8 rounds of clomid and always I just ovulated on the first cycle after an increase in dose. I just fear that it is going to be the same - 1 good cycle and then nothing at all.

Is there still hope that something will grow?

I really dont know how I can bear this any longer. The first weeks of my cycle I am devastated because my body again does not seem to respond to the drugs, then two weeks of devastation because not sure if ovulation occured and maybe being pregnant or not, and then devastation because AF came. I just wished there would be any light at the end of the tunnel.

I have no experience of ovulation induction but what did your clinic say? Can they increase the dose again? Will they rescan you in a few days time? Maybe no two cycles are the same.. Sorry I can’t advise but wishing you luck xx

THank you. I will have another scan on Monday, they did not want to increase the dose. I just dont understand why my body is so f**** useless.

I have just had egg collection and was on Menopur (150ui dosage which was dropped to 75ui towards the end) and after 4 days of that they introduced Cetrotide (which stops you ovulating to give your follicles time to grow) I was on a 'Short' cycle but there are longer ones, it depends on what cycle your consultant put you on. I had two big follicles i think measuring about 16 or 18mm in the end, and had lots of little ones (I think in total they counted 17 follicles). My cycle lasted 11 days before egg collection. I know this is not quite what your asking but I hope that it may put some perspective on what you've been told

Thank you very much for your answer. My last follicle was 24mm just before ovulation just after 11 days of incections and now there just seems to be nothing. I guess I just need to wait , like always there is nothing I can do.

Just read your post about your tww- hope all goes well for you X

I never responded to any clomid at all.

But I had lots of follicles due to PCOS they just weren't growing on meds!

We were put on short cycle IVF with cetrotide and then gonal F and I had lots of follicles and lots growing - they increased the meds each time I went for a scan and I was on a fairly high dose by end but only had mild OHSS after egg collection.

Do you have low AMH/ovarian reserve? Or PCOS?

I guess my point is that I responded much better to gonal F then clomid so hopefully you will too

They may be cautious of giving you too high doses as first cycle and risk.of OHSS.

Do they not measure your day 21 progesterone? Or give you a HCG trigger shot at ovulation time ?
