I have had my last scan today and have been told my egg collection is booked for Wednesday but my uterus isn't looking how they want it to so they may freeze all. Im a little bit gutted about this if im honest. They said they will look at it on Wednesday during egg collection and if it's ok then we can go ahead with transfer but who knows till Wednesday. Just thinking also that what if they are not top grade embryos surely they don't freeze them?? I'm so confused, what's an frozen embryo transfer going to involve. ..do I have to do more meds?? They also mentioned a natural frozen transfer 🤷🏽♀️

Egg collection wednesday but they want to freeze
Hi there
Dont worry! It is good that your clinic is paying so much attention to your uterus condition! If it’s not ready maybe u loose all your chance for a successful implantation! So maybe the later is the better! Also as I know frozen embryo and blastocysts after thawing have much better chance to implant! I do hope that u’ve got a great qualities!
If they said that u will have a natural frozen transfer, u wont need any more medication! However it depends on your situation if u dont have any special problem! Or at least no more injections
I cross my fingers for your EC! Hope u get the way to reach the goal whatever it is as frozen or fresh! The result is important not the way u reach there! Take care and dont be stressed! I’ll keep u on may prayers! xxx
My clinic couldn't do my embryo transfer as my uterus lining was too thin. It was really frustrating and took me a while to get over. But it's for the best and at the time a few publications came out saying frozen embryo transfer were better then fresh. I had to do a medicated FET to try and get my lining thick but it was just pills and a nasal spray, which while still not nice was easier than injection. But I'm sure you clinic will talk you through everything.
Best of luck.
I had to do a freeze all cycle too because of hyperstimulated ovaries. Like you I was disappointed but in the long run it gives your body a chance to recover and the frozen transfer is much easier on your body. For me it was a blessing in disguise as I felt so awful after collection.
Results are really good now for freezing and thawing so try not to stress too much about that. We had 'good' and 'intermediate' quality embryos frozen and so far one of each has been thawed successfully, so they don't have to be super 'top' quality to survive it well
There are different protocols for frozen transfer, depending on your situation. They may want to give you something to help plump up your lining if that's an issue, but it's nowhere near as complicated or intense as the stimulation.
Whichever way, I hope you get plenty of good quality embryos developing after your collection and if you do have to wait a little, it's a chance to look after yourself and get back to 100% before your little embies make it to your uterus!
Best of luck
I know you feel gutted as this feels like another obstacle. It’s good to hear your clinic are being thorough though and doing what they can to maximise your chance of conceiving. If you have to go for a medicated FET, it’s nowhere near as bad as what you’re going through at present. Less medication and less side effects in my experience. Hoping your egg collection goes well and perhaps you’ll be able to go ahead with a transfer if all looks ok xx
A fet is a much easier process, especially if it’s a natural one. All is not lost if you have to go to a freeze, in fact evidently some studies are showing that you have a slightly better success rate with a fet, probably because you’ve given your body time to heal and the hormones to settle. Good luck xx
For a lot of people, I know frozen embryo transfer has actually worked. It really depends on the doctor you visit. The better the doctor the better will be the process for you. This is something I have learned from my own personal experience. I am hoping that things go well for you. Listen to your doctors! Also, don't stress that much it isn't good for you. Sending baby dust your way.
This really is good news. When I had my first Egg collection, they paid no attention to my uterus and I wish I hadn’t had the transfer done 5 days later and that it had just been frozen instead. I felt utterly battered after my EC, and that round failed as a result. A natural frozen embryo transfer is so much less work on your body, no drugs, just a scan or two and in they pop your embryo. Please don’t be disappointed if they don’t do the transfer this time, it really is a good thing they are being so attentive!
