Hey guys, I’m about to start second round of ICSI next weekend and I’m starting to panic and have been looking at things like reiki and reproflexology to assist...basically anything that can try help me relax!! I don’t fancy acupuncture 🤣 Has anyone tried these and did they help??
Quick question.....: Hey guys, I’m... - Fertility Network UK
Quick question.....
Hiya, good luck for your upcoming cycle. I did acupuncture during my FET cycle earlier this year which unfortunately was unsuccessful so it didn't help in that sense, however I found it incredibly relaxing. I also meditated daily using the zita west guided meditation.
Whether any of these things actually help I don't know but if it helps to relax it can only be beneficial is the way I look at it.
I do acupuncture as it really relaxes me, I also did kineseology (kind of like counselling but for your body) and I went for a float (so so relaxing) before transfer, to calm my nerves and remind my body how to fully relax and let go. I also found fertility massage really really relaxing.
The thing I do most of all is mindfulness and breathing exercises which help to calm and reground me when my brain decides to start whirring away.
Good luck xxx
Thanks so much for your reply I’ll definitely consider these things! I hope you’re keeping well xx
I LOVE reflexology. It’s so relaxing and calming. I am also doing acu and like Vicky-01 it clearly didn’t work for me as my first round failed and I don’t feel any different I am going to keep going with it as so many people swear by it - I don’t find it particularly relaxing though.
I have been doing mindful ivf apps which are really good. Good luck for round 2 - I am on day 4 of injections of my second IcSI! x
Aw thank you for the reply it’s really helpful! Best of luck with this round💗💗xxx
Reflexology is certainly more relaxing than acupuncture- even if it doesn’t work then at least you still get a lovely foot massage each time.
I did acupuncture on my second and third rounds, I felt like it helped me cope eg with side effects of drugs but I don’t think it’s what made the difference to the third round working.
I’ve switched to reflexology since being pregnant and it has definitely helped with side effects such as morning sickness and acid reflux.
So I feel like both help with side effects and relaxation if nothing else but they don’t make miracles happen- that’s down to the drugs and some luck imho.
I found Acupuncture very relaxing. The needles really aren’t bad at all. Also the lady I went to had been through IVF herself so it was nice to speak to someone who knew what it was all about during the appointments.
I’ve also had reiki through a friend who is a practitioner. It was actually a very emotional experience and felt like a huge release xx
Hi
Last year I tried everything, acupuncture, reiki, hypnotherapy and reflexology. I think they all work.
Currently I am having reflexology every 2 weeks and will continue until my FET. X
Thanks so much for the reply, I am definitely going to book in xx
