Help!

Ladies with PCO what do you do to improve it? I know this is the reason I’m not conceiving but don’t get any help from the dr, I have regular periods but cysts on ovaries x

Look in to the Ketogenic diet, it helped me to reduce my PCO. It’s basically no carbs and lots of quality fats. It helped me to lose weight as well!

You might find that getting your symptoms under control through diet and exercise is enough to get pregnant. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case for me and I’m in the middle of my first IVF now. Good luck with it, PCO is a pain!

I’ve been ttc over three years I’m about 9lb over weight according to my BMI, but wasn’t the first two years.. mine is ivf next too x

I’ve never been massively overweight either but I was eating a really high carb diet which really made my cysts worse. I hope you get it under control and that all goes well with your IVF!

Oily skin and spots. Bloating x

It’s worth trying myo inositol which is supposed to balance your hormones. It didn’t help me conceive but we have male factor infertility xx

I’m surprised you haven’t been referred to the fertility clinic and your hospital as your u have been trying for over 2 years. The hospital will be able to run all sorts of tests x

Do you have polycystic appearance, polycystic ovaries have you been told you have the syndrome? You can conceive with polycystic ovaries. I have that and I was pregnant through ICSI (due to male factor) earlier this year. Tbh there is nothing really you can do but a good diet always helps if trying to conceive.

Hey, no I don’t have the syndrome as have regular periods, I have the cysts, oily skin, acne, bloating hair falling out all that jaz x

I have asked a million questions about pco but have been told not to worry, there is nothing to worry about and it's very common. It's important in treatment for them to know because of OHSS. If they have told you that this is why your not conceiving then why they not putting you I to treatment?

They had given me clomid but I couldn’t stand it as the bloating and sensitivity was unbearable, now they have said either to carry on trying forever more or have ivf x

Wow....that's not really any help. Although worrying about it defo won't help. Can you get another opinion?? That answer isn't much help to you really then.x

I don’t really know where to go as that was my GP, and already been pushed aside by fertility nurse as partner has a daughter so don’t get funding z

Does your local hospital have a fertility department? Maybe you can ask your GP just to refer you? You should get a funded IVF cycle as long as one partner has no children? If you don’t, that is disgusting and goes against NICE guidelines x

Hey, we were referred to gynaecologist to have some more tests e.g HSG,more blood tests etc and couldn’t find anything. No only my other half has a ten year old daughter already and definitely not entitled to funding, I went to a free open day and consultation at nearest private clinic and they found that I had cyst on my ovaries, the last time I went to nhs they did a blood test when I was given clomid and results for AMH were 28.7 (likely PCO) apparently z

You can get pregnant with PCO no problem. Eggs will still release and will be of good quality. In PCO your cysts will come and go. I could always feel where mine were and if I ovulated from that side (I didn't have cramps if I ovulated from the side with less/no cysts). My little girl was conceived from the side that had loads of cysts.

I know you and I have spoken a few times since the start of this year and I know just how frustrated, angry and distraught you feel regarding your situation, but PCO is not hindering you from becoming pregnant hun. I know you want to blame something, but this is not it. By all means take royal jelly and ubiquinol to improve egg quality, but don't worry yourself about those pesky cysts, it's stress you just don't need. How is the spotting now?

My dr Said that the cysts do impact ovulation as they override an egg trying to mature...
