My wife is 6 weeks + 3 days pregnant. Internal scan on wednesday, heartbeat and baby all looked fine. Thursday had some light spotting and fresh blood but seemed to settle down. (Thought it was a coincidence from the scan)... Nothing more until yesterday at 2pm and then a pouring of red blood and cramps.. (thought it was all over), went for an urgent scan and baby was beating strong and all looking fine. Last night bleeding slowed, no more cramps and now just brownish spotting.. she's now resting and doing nothing.
Any advice that everything will be okay or anyone been through the same sort of thing? Thanks!

I’m exactly 7 weeks and was terrified when I started spotting then bright red blood. I was put on bedrest immediately and my progesterone was increased to support the pregnancy. Bleeding stopped soon after. Just take it nice and easy, tell her to relax, no lifting, exercise. Consultant should be able to advise increasing pessaries etc to establish cause but limit activity. Good Luck x

Thank so much. Sorry to hear that about you also, Is everything okay now? Yes we spoke with our clinic and progesterone was upped immediately last night and asprin stopped. She's done nothing since last night's scan but we are both super nervous and symptom spotting! X

It’s so scary when it happens but your clinic sound really good. You’ll find that the extra progesterone alone will do the job and stop the spotting 🤞🏼. Mine stopped soon after and everything ok so far....so hard not to worry after 6 losses but we are blessed to be where we are no matter what the journey. The baby’s heart was beating and it measured correctly date wise so all should be good. Let us know how you get on!! X
Thank you for the reassurance and good luck to you too x
I have something called an sch (haematoma) I have had three massive big red bleeds same as your wife pouring out and have bled brown since my last red bleed nearly 5 weeks ago. I’m now 12 weeks and so far so good. I’ve been told the baby should push the clot out of the way. Was your wife told she had something like this?
Although bleeding isn’t normal, it’s very common. Make sure your wife is resting lots and drinking plenty of water xxxx
Hi there. Thanks so much for writing back. At the scan last night the sonographer did say she thinks she could see a implantation bleed with thick fluid but not sure if she was looking for something to blame as my wife was still bleeding at the scan?! Also not really sure what this means going forward but as it stands no more bright blood since yesterday at 2pm and we saw the heartbeat again so as it stands we are literally just keeping everything crossed and im hardly letting her move! Red certainly = scary!! X
I bled a lot at 7 weeks and again at 14 weeks. He is now a 29 year old policeman 👮♂️. It’s hard not to worry I know but they are keeping a good eye on your wife so things look good with the heartbeat xx
Thanks so much for the reasurrance.. im hoping the fact she hasn't bled fresh red for over 24 hours is a good sign too. We are both nervous wrecks though! X
