Help!
Have they said anything about unblocking your tubes?
Im sorry to hear this. And hope it is able to be resolved.
Have you looked at IVF payment plans if tubes cannot be unblocked?
It's not really something I want or should have had to consider but my clinic does offer it with 100% refund if it does not end in a pregnancy. It's still also a chunk of money every month but easier than getting the full amount.
There is still hope for having a child try not to give up just yet
Thanks all for your reply, the G. P said they don't unblock(surgery) in Essex that he heard they do it in London but not Essex. I don't know of any clinic that allow payment play, I am open to suggestions. I felt as if my world came to an end yesterday, I cried all night.
Hi Ayoka278,
I’m in a similar situation. I wanted to let you know there are others out here. I had large fibroids and I had blocked tubes. I’m 38 and single. About to start ivf in the next couple of weeks.
To be honest to get to this stage I had to cobble together a lot of money. I paid to have my fibroids and both tubes removed. I’m also paying for ivf as I am single.
Research clinics that unblock tubes and find out what the payment options are. I just want to say good luck and keep on persevering.
There’s a few IVF clinics in Essex that might be able to help with the unblocking? I would also email the ccg for your area and ask if this is actually the case, because Essex is a large place!!!! And they fall under different CCGs, so I had two rounds of IVF on the NHS (I’m near Woodford) and my friend in Braintree can’t access any, so I’d have a research with regards to your fibroids. Good luck xx
Thank you, i sent a mail to my ccg and got a response immediately that they will contact the funding team and get back to me, once again THANK YOU. I will be waiting for any response from you too, I am largely open to suggestions. Trying to get my self busy so I don't fall into depression mode, thank you and I will be waiting.
Just curious, how did u find out about ur tubes? I’m having IVM - hopefully which is cheaper and I have a good egg reserve x
Hi I live in Wolverhampton West Midlands, I had blocked tubes and I had mine unblocked nearly 2 years ago I too have been refused NHS funded ivf because my partner has a son from a previous relationship. I'm currently trying to appeal this decision with the help of my MP, she is going to appeal to my doctors, gynaecologist, the ccg and even take it to parliament if she has to. Don't give up fight for your rights all the way. Good luck xx
Hi Ayoka I was just wondering how youre getting on? I too am looking into Ivf as a single woman as I have stage IV endo and also adenomyosis, and Dr said I should start trying asap. I've had a look at clinics that offer payment plans and suggest you look at access fertility they offer the payment plans and the website can tell you which clinics you can get them at. How did you get on with the CCG? I'm with Hackney and they're being annoyingly vague about whether I can have ivf. Hope all is well and you've had some positive movement since this post xx
Ccg outcome was negative, as I am a single person. I'm trying to save every penny I earn right now. My issue now is, the fibroids and ivf(though the fibroids are not big, 2-5cm but they are 5 of them). The closest ivf clinic to me says £6,400 for two rounds of ivf, I will book for a consultation when I have safe half of the money.
For 2 rounds of IVF this is cheap. Luckily the NHS hs funded my first round which was around £5,000-£6,000 with a private clinic in Tamworth...the only downside is it’s 2 hours from my house but so worth it.
I'm so sorry to hear that about the CCG, I'm also trying to save for IVF as a single woman as given up on trying to get an answer from Hackney CCG. They said I have to pay for 6 rounds of IUI before being considered for IVF, but I've been told by London Women's Clinic that IUI won't work and they won't do it on me, so seems like a pointless waste of £8K. Might as well go straight to paying for IVF. Wishing you all the best, keep me updated xxx
