So I triggered last night and woke up this morning with a bit of discomfort, nothing unmanageable. As the day has gone on, the pain has got worse and worse, and I’ve had to come home from work. I rang the clinic who said it is normal to have some discomfort but this is beyond just uncomfortable, this is really painful. Has this happened to anyone else??

EC tomorrow and in extreme pain
I'm sorry to hear that. I had/have 'mild' OHSS so was in pain throughout stimming and after EC. I can confirm that after the trigger shot, the pain was the worst.
You must remember that your ovaries have grown to around x4 their normal size, this is not a comfortable condition for them at all! Be kind to yourself and rest. My advice would be to take paracetamol or co-codomal every 4 hours (to max dose - check pack), and use hot water bottles on front and back. I would also make clear to the team at your egg collection how much pain you are - they can alter their sedation procedure accordingly.
Hang in there though - you are so close!!! Best of luck for EC x
Thank you for your response. I’ve been fairly uncomfortable throughout stims but nobody has mentioned OHSS, my estrogen levels have been normal and although I have lots of follicles they haven’t told me they are worried about over stimming. I really hope it’s not that!
That's good! Just rest up and take regular pain killers. It is nearly over with!
Also - I was told I had to do a freeze-all due to OHSS, but then on day five my clinic changed their mind due to the quality of my blastos and said I had to do a fresh transfer anyway! So you never do know!
Hi Kitcat. It's not normal to have severe pain. It could be that you are over stimulating. Make sure you drink at least 3 litres of water daily and take regular paracetamol, unless something else has been prescribed. Rest when you can, but have a little walk around the house regularly too. Just be prepared that if it is, they may have to store any embryos frozen and do a transfer once you have settled down. Just painting the worst scenario, but remember it is all manageable. Make sure you don't get constipated either. Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane
Thank you Diane! The pain feels kind of like really bad trapped wind, so maybe I am also constipated! The pain has eased after a hot bath and going for a wee, it’s manageable now.
Hi. I was very similar, no mention of over stimulation but a lot of pain/discomfort. I made sure I kept the paracetamol going, had a hot water bottle, lots of water and like Diane said, try to walk around the house little but often.
I felt like I got worse after the collection, but it did settle down after transfer.
Rest up and take some time off work if you need too, look after you! xx
Thank you, I’m shocked at how much it hurts!! But a hot water bottle between my legs seems to be helping 🙈 just got to hope it settles down. If it gets worse after collection tomorrow, I might just cry 😔 x
Sorry to hear you're in pain Kitcat. Drink lots and rest up. Good luck for EC xx
Oh no sorry to hear this! I can’t offer any advice but I really hope you feel better soon and that EC goes well tomo xx
