Day 14 after ET and bleeding heavily.. :(

Hi all, this is our first (and probably last) go at IVF. I’m now 40 and funding has stopped.

I had my ET 14 days ago and have been on Cyclogest400mg twice a day. I did my HPT on Friday (day 11) and the test failed! I did a second test later on in the day and there was a faint line indicating a small amount of HCG. This happened again Saturday morning and the nurse at the fertility clinic upped my progesterone to 3x a day. Saturday morning I started bleeding, light at first but now fairly heavy. The progesterone is giving me horrendous cramps and with bleeding as well, I’m doing my best to stay positive but..

I tested again this morning and the line seemed even more faint ( but I did have a wee in the night)

Basically, think I’ve lost both my little embryos. Anyone else been through similar??

Dear Natalie, Just wanted to send my love. I have been through several failed ivf cycles, but none like yours with a positive pregnancy test. It does sound sadly like this cycle may have failed, but I would keep going with the progesterone and contact your clinic. I am myself on my (probably) last cycle, pregnancy test Friday, and am not expecting miracles to be honest. Very much hope that the worst has not happened for you, but wishing you all the love and hope in the world if it has. xx

It sounds like it could possibly be a chemical pregnancy. I’m sorry. I hope that it isn’t. Bleeding is common in early pregnancy, not normal as such but common. Stick with your clinics advice for now. Perhaps ask them or your gp for a blood test.. xx

Ive never had a positive test but I have suffered from bleeding in the 2ww. Unfortunately it wasnt good news for me but it sounds like perhaps the embryo started to implant but has failed if the tests are getting lighter....as Tugsgirl said a chemical pregnancy. Have you spoken to the clinic again to ask their advice again? When was your official test date? Big hugs.xx

Thank you all so much for your kindness. It didn’t work back in October and I was devastated. I couldn’t even bring myself to read these posts.

However, after a lot of soul searching, we’ve decided to have one final try and found the money. I’m currently waiting for my date for my treatment.

I’m not convinced we’ll be successful, but I can’t not try. Our odds are now 20%, which is too much of a long shot. We’ll see.
