Why is my OTD 14 days after ET?

So my OTD is 14 days after ET which seems like a very long time. And this is just the urine home test date and if negative, the blood won’t be even checked. I’m 7dp5dt and feel like ask the clinic to test my blood earlier although they probably wouldn’t agree. The OTD during my last IVF was 14 days after EC which was much shorter. I just don’t see the point in bombarding myself with hormones unnecessarily if this has not worked. How long did you have to wait for your OTD? X

Hi.... I also had to wait 14 days, after transferring a 5 day embryo. I thought it was standard... but curious to see what other ladies will say. Btw I was told to skip the urine test if I wanted and just book a blood test, which I did. Best wishes! xxx

Looks like every clinic is different, though I don’t understand the reason why some test earlier than others. I think I will try to calm down and just wait for the OTD. Thank you! xxx

I had a 3d FET and test day was 13 days later.

That does seem long, must be your clinics protocol.

I would probably say 14 days is more accurate as it gives your body enough time to show a strong positive hormone. Next time I do IVF I’m going to ask if I can test 14 days after and not 11. Fingers crossed for you! And good luck!xx

That makes perfect sense. I guess they want to make sure that if the patient gets pregnant, it is viable. I need to be patient! At the moment nothing indicates that it has worked ( cramping, boobs less sore today) so I would like to know sooner. Thanks! Xx

I know how you feel! Dont read too much into symptoms etc. (Although I was the same it can’t be helped!) I got a lot of cramping in my 2ww and I found out I was pregnant so it can be a good sign! Unfortunately mine turned out to be a chemical pregnancy but still don’t count yourself out yet!!xx

I must say the symptoms are making me a neurotic freak. I’m so sorry about your chemical pregnancy. I had it last time but it was very low and I actually started bleeding 8 days after embryo transfer. Tomorrow is 8th day so if I don’t bleed, it will be a mini-success! Xx

Thank you. Sorry for your chemical pregnancy also. It’s so annoying that cramps can either mean pregnancy or period!! Just try and occupy yourself I suppose! Not too much longer now xx

Hi, I had to wait 14 days too and my clinic did not offer me a blood test 😪 It was hard and I always caved in and tested early. Good luck for you OTD xx

My clinic is 10 days past 5 day transfer. They are all different though.

My clinic is 13 days past 5 day transfer

And they don’t do bloods as routine but I’ve booked in for bloods in the morning and that will be 11dp5dt

I already tested and bfp just want to see my numbers double. Xx

Congratulations on your bfp! Can I ask what symptoms did you feel? I have a bit of cramping and my breasts are less sore today and I started to worry! 🙈 xx

Mine was dull cramps lots of little twinges and backache also I was really emotional (still am but not nearly as much as the first few days) my boobs haven’t been sore at all everyone’s symptoms is different so I wouldn’t stress to much how many days post transfer are u? Xx

I’m 7 days post transfer today. I felt a lot of cramping on 4th day, now cramps are dull but I feel pain around my right ovary. I assume it’s still healing as it had a lot of follicles. My boobs could still be sore after the trigger I think. I was keeping up quite well until today when I became completely neurotic but I think I’m better now. It’s really impossible to tell what symptoms mean, isn’t it? As long as I don’t bleed, there is a chance. Xx

Yes keep positive 🤞🏼easier said than done I no. I just new it worked this time (8th cycle first 2 bfps but 2nd trimester losses and the rest bfns) I’m also a serial poas-er lol I was testing the day after transfer as I had trigger but my tests never went negative I wish I had the self control not to test constantly but I really dont😕will u test before otd ? Really hope u get ur positive xxx

I’m so sorry about your losses and all the bfns. And I’m really happy that you got bfp this time 😊 Is it with 1 or 2 embryos? I don’t think I will test before otd. My husband won’t let me lol. I’m going to wait and try to be calm about it. Xxx

We transferred 1 top grade hatching blast. I told myself I wouldn’t test but that didn’t last very long lol Well ur nearly done be strong and sending lots of baby dust xx

We also went with one top grade hatching blast 😊 Yes, I think it will go quick now and my sister is coming on Friday to stay over for the weekend so that should keep my mind out of it a bit. Thank you and all the best for you pregnancy xx

Mine was 13dp5dt. My friends was also that and her line was very faint at 13d, she had to test again on day 14 and that’s when she got her full positive. My clinic don’t do blood tests. I would wait.
