One nurse I spoke to at my clinic said my OTD is 16 days after egg collection (not transfer). But then the next nurse told me 14 days after embryo transfer. The info sheet they gave me said 14 days post ET but didn't differentiate between 5-day transfers and 3-day transfers. So I have no idea what my OTD is. My clinic doesn't do bloods - just a HPT. And if it is negative then you just leave a message on their message bank with the result and stop the meds. There is no follow up appointment (or rather, they will schedule a follow up to discuss your treatment and next steps but have warned this will be 2 - 3 months down the line). If it is positive then they just book you in for a 7-week viability scan but don't see you before then.
I am feeling pretty down about all this and would love to stop the drugs asap if, as I am confident it will be, it's a BFN. I'm currently 11dp5dt and haven't tested yet. Today is 16 days post EC but 14 days post ET won't be until Sunday. All that said, I'm also dreading the test given how confident I am that it will be a BFN. The mere thought of it is making me feel quite nauseous!

I'm currently also 11dp5dt and was told to test 18 after collection which is Saturday (they also said test on the Saturday, didn't just say 18 days post). Not sure this helps as every clinic is different.
I've been bleeding since Monday and heavily in the past 2 days so there's no way I'm getting a positive on Saturday.
Sorry I've just read my message back to myself and realised it may have come across somewhat negative! Didn't mean it to if that's how it reads. Having one of those days
Not at all! Obviously you are upset about the bleeding but of course you are! If anyone's post was negative it was mine! I got OHSS after ET but it is getting better - I was told it would be getting worse, not better, if I got pregnant. Which is why I'm pretty confident it is a negative result. Plus, with the OHSS I was cramping up and in so much pain I couldn't move on the weekend, couldn't wee without excruciating pain ... I find it hard to believe any embryo could have survived through that. I feel like I barely survived! Xx
It puzzles me how different all the clinics are, i had a 5 day transfer on 21st and my official test day is tommorrow meaning i will only be 9 days post! Maybe they just want to be sure of an accurate result? Dont give up hope 😗 xx
Hiya London, my clinic said my OTD for blood test would have been 11 days post transfer but because it was a Sunday they said to come in 12 days post transfer. They said for a HPT urine test it was 14 days post transfer. Hang on in there Hun. Fingers crossed for you - don't give up hope xxxx
Hey I got told it's 14 days after so 2nd July. It's a he'll of a wait. Some people get positives before that but my friend that was also a 5 day didn't get her positive until her 14 day OTD and has an on going pregnancy!xx
My clinic says otd is 11dpt for a 5dt as they always equate to 16 day old embies. So if I had a 2dt my otd would say otd was 14dpt ( my 1st cycle was a 2dt)
Reading online (and it makes sense..I think?!) you actually should be able to test on a hpt from 9dpt for a 5dt as that would make it 14 days old which on a natural cycle would be about right.
To h*ll with it...my otd is monday but I'll darn well be testing from Saturday lol!
Thanks ladies. It's crazy how different it is with the various clinics! Urgh, I definitely can't wait until Sunday, which is 14dp5dt. I feel like I really need the weekend to be able to process the news. But I also don't want to test early, get a negative, be depressed about the negative but unable to put it behind me and process it because I have that teeny tiny bit of hope things might change before Sunday. Uuuurrrrrggggghhhhhhhh!!!
Hi, I was 9dp5dt yesterday with DE and was told to test yesterday. I believe if you have ivf with OE, some of the drugs can contain hcg and therefore give you a potentially false positive as it can be the drugs rather than Bhcg caused by pregnancy. Therefore wait until the advised time if you are ivf with OE, if it were me I would go by the documented sheet. If you are DE, go for it.
I have had treatment abroad so would have no follow up planned but just book a scan privately. Having had several mc through natural conception, there is very little that can be done if negative and if it is bfp,the follow up is a scan. My clinic have said early scan is optional anyway.
