FET Day 3 Embryos

So I'm diligently waiting for FET and today the clinic thawed out my 8 frozen embryos. I got a call from the embryologist who said that only 3 survived the defrosting process, which is a lower survival rate than expected. She seemed pretty positive and said I should have FET on Day 3 (which is this Wednesday). She did say Day 3 embryo transfers can result in pregnancy, but I just can't help feeling deflated. It took a lot of effort to get those 8 embryos and I am so sad that 5 didn't survive.

Has anyone else lost embryos through the thawing process?

Has anyone actually got pregnant on a Day 3 embryo transfer?

I'm looking for a little hope....

Wishing you all the best. I myself don't have experience of this but I have read about lots and lots of positive outcomes from 3 day transfers. I really think they only go to 5 if lots to choose from and they always say that back in the womb is best.

Sorry as many didn't thaw as you expected so hard to take.

Did the clinic say why they defrosted all 8? I would have thought they would defrost less and take if from there.

3 day FET's do result in successes and I'm sure many ladies here have have their own success.

Please don't feel too disheartened (I know that's hard) as you definitely have a chance.

They defrosted all 8 because they were at 2PN stage and so literally none of them had grown at all yet. They frozen them initially at that stage because they spotted a polyp in my womb during a random scan and then I had to wait over 6 months to have an operation to remove it on the NHS.

Ah ok that makes sense but still I think they could have defrosted less.

So annoying when treatment is on hold! I had to have a lap in May after my EC in Feb. Takes so long.
