Hey ladies hope you are all keeping well โค

Well just had my first blood test and follicle scan with "wanda" ๐Ÿคฃ so far there is 9 follies we could see and a couple of them are slow starters. Just a bit deflated as my first round there were more on my first scan, and I know every round is different but I was hoping for the same if not more. We got 15 eggs first round.....if we only get 9 this time...well it could be worse. Doc did say it's early days which it is. And this time round i have been eating much healthier, walking more and have been taking coq10 for 3 months...go figure! But I guess I'm after quality anyways as we only had 1 good embryo last round out of 11 fertilised so fingers crossed for at least better quality! ๐Ÿ˜ xx

On my first cycle, they retrieved 7 eggs, 4 fertilized and 1 made it to a day 5 transfer. That round ended in a BFN.

My consultant upped my dosage of Meriofert for my second round, with the aim of getting more eggs. The increase in drugs knocked me about and I felt so hormonal, but positive I'd get more eggs. Low and behold, they only collected 5 eggs that time and I was so disappointed. However, 4 fertilized again and all 4 were still going on day 5. We had a 4ab transferred and found out later that one of the others had made it into the freezer.

The upshot of the story is that I'm now almost 16 weeks pregnant, so it really is quality over quantity!

I took Ubiqinol, which is a purer version of COQ10 and Royal Jelly capsules in the run up and during my cycle.

Good luck with the rest of your cycle. X

Oh yay congrats on your pregnancy!! Hope that is all going great ๐Ÿ˜โค

And to make matters worse and what probably got me down is I seen a doctor today I've never met before, he wasn't the smiliest and it's Sunday here in NZ so he probably was not happy working and the clinic was super busy...even my partner said "gosh he looks like he's sick of looking at vaginas all day!" ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ so when the scan popped up and I said where is all my follicles? he said yeah bit of a slow start ..then I said...yeah I guess it's more quality over quantity anyways and the cheeky sod said well not really it's quantity over quality but it's still early days!! Like thanks doc, gosh they can be so insensitive sometimes!! ๐Ÿ˜• xxx

We only had 8 eggs collected from 9 follicles. 5 fertilised and only 3 made it to 5 day blast with only one good enough to transfer and the other 2 deemed no good to freeze. Our one and only became our BFP and I am now 12 plus 6. I took all sorts of vitamins, prenatal vits with coq10 and ate healthily. It only takes one xx

Congrats again on your pregnancy! It's so great you are past the scary part of the hurdle! Bet your starting to see a wee bump now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes that's what I'm trying to tell myself I'm going for quality this time as I had heaps last time and none were good to freeze and only had 1 to transfer. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž xxx

Tbh I was really upset we had none to freeze and wished they could have all been put back just so I had known they had been given a chance but I know that's silly. You just got emotionally attached to them all. As long as you have one good one one that's all that matters. If you have too many you're at risk of ohss which sounds scary xx

Yes I know the feeling I had 11 fertilize and was devasted on transfer day when the said there was only 1 decent one left. I was like huh? Out of 11!! And yes I think I might have been on the verge of OHSS as on transfer day doc was having trouble putting embie back in the right spot as he said my ovaries were still very swollen. Maybe this time not having so many eggs will be more gentle on my body and fingers crossed better for an embie to implant if I get that far ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคžxx

I had my first scan on Friday and I have 5 in my left ovary and only 1 immature one in my right, could not find my right over for about 10mins! My consultant was really positive and I left feeling really positive and said those exact words before we left...'its quality over quantity as we only need 1'. If you have 9 that's fantastic plus you may have more appear / catch up. I'm going for my next scan tomorrow and we'll see if my lazy right ovary has woken up or not. Sending you positive thoughts xxx

Well that's good sounds like you have a good consultant mine was just horrible! Fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow hopefully that right ovary has caught up! I got back in 2 days time for next bloods and scan. Will look out for your updates and thanks for your positive response ๐Ÿ˜xxx

Sounds like it was his 'time of the month'. He shouldn't be in the job if he's miserable! Try to see the positives and fingers crossed for your next scan xxx I know its easier said than done though xx

I was in a similar situation at my second follicle scan this time around. Although the first scan had been promising the second scan showed there hadnโ€™t been much progress. Compared to my first round I wasnโ€™t progressing as well.. After having my bloods checked they decided not to change anything and although I stimmed a little longer this time I had 19 eggs collected! I had 16 on the first round. Try not to be too disappointed. Itโ€™s only your first scan and a lot can change xx

Oh yay thats very reasurring then!! Yes they haven't changed my meds at all this round same as last and same dosage as well as they said I responded perfectly last time. When the nurse rung me today she didn't say anything about my bloods just said keep on the same dose and we will re scan in 2 days time. To be honest the doctor inhad today just seemed he couldn't really be bothered and felt very rushed, they were really busy today waiting room packed and I think he was the only doctor on.. so ill cut him a little bit of slack lol. Hopefully will have a better update in 2 days time ๐Ÿ˜ xxx

Honestly all along, well after that first scan, I was disheartened so no one could have been more surprised than me when they said I had 19! They hadnโ€™t seemed anywhere near as positive (although they were lovely and reassuring I just wasnโ€™t buying it!) this round. I think youโ€™ll do just fine. I hope the Doctorโ€™s mood improves or you see someone else next to lol xx
