Currently 12 weeks pregnant however have been bleeding and clotting when going to the toilet. Anyone else had the same experience. I’m worried this is going to be how it is for the rest of my pregnancy.

Clotting and bleeding at 12 weeks
Have you been able to get an early scan lovely? Either the local epau or you can get private ones for around £50 (might be easier to access at the weekend). Sounds like you could do with some reassurance x
Hi I went to the epu and they scanned me I had a fall and have a infection defo go down
Hey, have you called your midwife unit or epu? I had a bleed at 13 weeks which was like a heavy period and with really big clots. They scanned me the day after I phoned them. Turned out to be placenta previa (which I still have now at 34 weeks) but babies were totally fine. Bleeding stopped after 5 days but midwives told me I would definitely experience more bleeding, thankfully have had no more since. My bleed was bright red blood so expected the worst. Isn't always a bad sign though. Hope you're able to get it checked out, keep us updated xxx
Hi dear
It is true that bleeding in the 12th week of pregnancy could be scaring especially for the first timers. However, it doesn’t always mean that there is something wrong. There are known causes of bleeding during the early months of pregnancy. Implantation bleeding is one of the causes of bleeding in early pregnancy. It is a light and harmless bleeding that is popularly referred to as spotting. They occur when the embryo implants itself in the uterus. The bleeding happens at the time when the periods would have been due. In fact, most people will confuse this type of bleeding with periods. Second, pregnant woman may experience cervix discharge which may sometimes cause bleeding. It may also happen after sex. The first two reason should not cause worry or make you panic. In fact, women who experience this kind of bleeding go on to have a successful pregnancy. However bleeding that occurs in the 12th month could be a miscarriage. It needs to be investigated by a doctor so that remedial actions can be taken. Many miscarriages occur before the 12th week. Their reason for occurrence is because there is something wrong with the baby. Blood clotting and hormone upsurge could also lead to miscarriage. Unfortunately, when the bleeding caused by a miscarriage starts, doctors can do nothing to stop it. In fact, the only thing that they can do is to make it easier for the miscarriage process to be completed. So you need to be on the lookout for signs of miscarriage that occurs at week 12.
Went for a scan this morning. Baby is all fine although on his/her side so couldn’t get a due date so going back Thursday. Still bleeding though. They have said my wife may have a bleed behind the baby but nothing to do with the pregnancy and may also just be hormone imbalance. Thanks for your reply, both trying to reassure each other and remain positive that the little one is still going strong.
