Feeling very emotional and sore today. Had egg collection yesterday under sedation. It went well, managed to get 14 eggs. Just had call from embryologist, 6 have managed to fertilise, she wasn't the most enthusiastic woman, and they'd hoped more would fertilise. My husband went golfing at 9.45 and missed the call, so was here on my own and feel like an emotional wreck. Have been busy cleaning, washing since he left to distract me from the impending phone call. Haven't even had a drink or breakfast yet. Feeling completely drained. Is 6 fertilisedany good? They want me to go in Monday lunch time possibly, but will ring me at 10am Monday first to let me know if there are any embryos still survived. Anyone else feel very sore after EC, also feel a mess using those progesterone tablets as they have told me to use them rectally x

Firstly - congratulations on 6 embryos - one of those Embies could be the one! 🙂
I think they hope for 60-70% fertilisation rate. So you’re a little under but definitely still in contention. I think the key to keep in mind at this point is that the sperm & eggs got on with each other and made 6 embryos. The main worry on first cycle from what the nurse told me is getting no embryos and wondering why the main business isn’t happening so try to see it as a positive if you can.
I’m sending prayers and positive vibes that your Embies dividing overnight for you 🙏
Yeah - the progesterone is no fun, I’m going vaginally at the moment as I’ve been constipated 😬 but am going to switch to rectally tonight as that’s resolved! 💩🙈
It is uncomfortable after EC Hun - best advice I had was to rest up (a decent amount) and stay well hydrated. Good luck xxxx
Six embryos is great!!!! It only takes one. We had 8 embryos post fertilisation (11 eggs) and 5 made it to day 5 blastocyst. We had 2 pretty average grade embies transferred. Sadly the rest didn't make it to freeze.
But...one of our embies did stick...and I am now 20+4 pregnant. It only takes one embryo and a lot of luck. You have made it this far which is amazing! Many people don't. And remember, the embies are much happier and stronger once inside you so forget the grade/quality and as long as you get one inside you have a great chance of success.
One of my close friends had 1 egg harvested which produced a poor grade day 3 embryo which was transferred day 3...and is now their little girl.
Best of luck xx
6 embryos is good!! And the rectal progesterone are awful.
Like Jen said above you only need one embryo for it to work. I had 11 eggs collected and 4 went to blastocysy stage. One was put in on day 5 and another one frozen sadly the other two didn’t make it. The first fresh embryo made it and I am now 6w1d
Pessarys aren’t the best, but I was told that it’s better some rectally. Weird sensation tho! Haha.
6 embryos is a great number fingers crossed for you x
Thanks everyone for your positive comments, I truly hope they do well over the weekend and I can have one transferred next week. Fingers crossed! I've taken myself off to bed now and watching friends, Feeling a little moody and irritable and really tired. Did too much today and am really achy x
