Egg collection update 😄

Yesterday we had our egg collection. It went really well and we got 20 eggs!!!

Luckily I’m not being monitored for ohss this time as they don’t think they need to. No measuring wee for me! 💁🏻‍♀️

Today we had the call from the embryologist and 13 have fertilised! Transfer will be Monday. Really happy with the results, it’s more than last time and we hope to freeze some. The progesterone injection have begun and they are a bit sore! 😑

Yeah so happy with that! We only got 8 last time and by transfer, only one could be used with none to freeze!

Ahh it's a great feeling for sure! my first cycle I had none to freeze out of 11 fertilized! Was gutted. 2nd cycle only had 8 fertilize, 1 decent blast for transfer (which failed too) and was told none to freeze but they were watching a couple till day 6...well got the biggest surprise when embryologist called me the next day and said they have not 1 but 2 to freeze! Was ecstatic! Just shows how different each cycle can be! Fingers crossed hun you get a few for the freezer! 🤞🤞🤞xxx

Have a look at my post I just put up below yours 😊 basically I was suppose to start this month but I've decided to wait till next month. Yes so happy I have 2 frosties as that's it for us after that we dont have the 15k (that's what a round costs in new zealand!) For another round. So because my frosties are day 6 blasts the chances of success are 10% lower. So at my age (38) my day 5 blasts were given a 40% chance of working...thsee 2 day 6s have a 30% chance, but hey 30 is better than 0! And who knows I may be like alot of ladies on here where only FETs seem to work, all the drugs and horomones are out of our bodies etc. So yeah excited, but also very scared as I cant bear to see another BFN! Xxx

Like you said 30% is better than none and you never know! They’ve been strong to hold out for freezing they could be the lucky ones 🤞🤞🤞 you’ll have to keep me updated! There’s nothing worse than a bfn is soul destroying but your strong to keep going ❤️ xxx

Yes well you never know they stuck around in the lab for 6 days they must be strong fighters 💪💪 ones a 5bb and the other a 4bb so kinda average but if they made it to freezing they must be good! And never had a hatching blast before I'm putting my luck on that 5bb! 😉 oh tell me about it those BFN can piss right off I've had enough of them 😉 yes i definately will hun you keep us updated too! Will you get a call on day 3 to see how they doing? Or like my clinic they dont check them at all, they always tell me dont wanna unsettle their environment xx

No we don’t get a day 3 call apparently they use to do it but now they leave them to not be disturbed which I’m fine with I’ll just be counting down the days haha! Xx

Yes I keep trying to tell myself if thy weren't good they wouldn't have been frozen! Just worried as I've always had average embryos first fresh transfer was a 4bb, and second fresh transfer was a 3ba...and they didnt work? But who knows at my age they might have been chromosomally abnormal. I just pray one of these embies sticks!

Well yes that's good tho hun exactly what my clinic says it's better to not disturb them. Well fingers crossed when you go in for transfer you get excellent news with lots of excellent embies! 🐣🐣🐣🤞🤞xxx

So happy for you!! Just wondered if you have any tips on egg quality/quality? Did you do anything different for your second cycle? I am doing another cycle in March and super nervous as we didn’t get any blastocysts (they think poor sperm) xx

Hey! I actually this time round I have done acupuncture for 3 months before treatment and also the run up to where I am now. It’s suppose to help and my acupuncturist has had a lot of success stories so I thought I’d try it. It’s made me feel more relaxed and not as anxious. My partner had it too they sometimes provide discounts as a pair instead of one session just for you.

I drank alot of pomegranate juice this time after reading up that it’s beneficial with high vitamin c. I know some things can be myths but doesn’t hurt to try.

Also this time I changed the vitamin supplements. I didn’t have any vital dha last time but you need it according to some friends advise, it’s important omega. I got these from Zita west but you can buy on amazon. I use pregnacare too.

I’ve also just bought a bottle of her 0-12 weeks pregnancy supplements to support the growth in transfer. They are a tad expensive but I wanted to try a different approach to see if it helps. Also, plenty of water!! Drink lots. I hope your second round is THE round 🤞xxx
