I have my Nuchal scan this Thursday at 13 weeks - is this just a normal scan and they measure the baby on screen and tell me verbally whether is it ok or not there and then? Does anything else happen? Bloods etc?
I have to do it on my own as my OH is away with work.
Thanks in advance!
Xxx

Hey. This is normal. They will measure the fluid at the back of the neck, the nuchal fold, and they will take bloods. They put all these results and your age into a computer to get your risk of downs, Edwards and patau syndrome. They will usually point things out to you, head, brain, limbs, heart but your anomaly scan will be at 20 weeks. Hope all goes π

Oh yes I can imagine!!! We are waiting experts π€£ xxx
I'm sure someone posted on one of my posts they waited in the hospital and got results same, day. I'll check for you maybe ask your hospital if you can wait and get them same day. I'll check and send you the link if I find it xxx
I don't know how to bloody save link and post it to you on this stupid phone but if you go to my post "meet our little wriggler" scroll down to Emma d71 I think user name is she waited for two hours to get results. Ask your hospital if you can wait if you really want them ASAP. You'll be fine hun it's nerve wracking but it's normal hun. I'm sure everything will be fine ππ
I know mines, came through post a, week later. But what I'm gathering is that if you ask to get them ASAP that day they'll tell you to wait for them for that two hours not sure if every hospital does it. ππ
Hope all goes well x

Yes you must be. Have you been able to take any time off to recover? X

I work part time so i donβt feel I need to take time off. I just feel drab with no energy I got up and had breakfast but went back to bed til 1 today I felt sick. Iβm going to have to pull myself around maybe decorate my eldest bedroom or something.

Yes maybe give yourself a project. Sending you hugs. It can't be an easy time for you. Xxx
I had mine on Tuesday. Hospital told me it could take up to 2 weeks for the results to arrive (though would phone sooner if any issues) and definitely didnβt give me an option of waiting. Hope you get yours sooner!
Nope.....ha ha ha no point in lying! Its actually the only thing that keeps me sane....know its no for everyone but at least I can look for hope stories to keep me going! Hubby already thinks it hasnt worked but I think he is just scared to be hopeful!xx
