Well I felt like it was too good to be true. Yesterday, I went to the toilet and had bright red blood a couple of times - not loads and loads but enoughthat it shocked me. I phoned up my aunt who is a midwife and she asked me how all my other symptoms were, and they have definitely changed- my boobs are no longer tender and sensitive and the urge to pee all the time has gone. I did a pregnancy test again and it was only a faint positive - I would have thought by now it should have been a strong positive. I’m guessing there is nothing the doctors can do at this stage, I have phoned the clinic to let them
Know but not heard anything back yet (always an answer phone) I just have to let nature take its course. Has anyone had any experience with this please? Thank you in advance 😢😢😢

Hi Laceygirl, I completely understand what you’re feeling, it can be quite scary. I bled weekly in my first trimester. Sometimes just spotting sometimes more. Symptoms can also come and ago so that doesn’t help. You can try going for an early reassurance scan see if they can find a heart beat (which they may not this early). But just remain positive and try to your very best to not stress (I know easier said than done, I freaked out every time I bled). I’m now 18 weeks and the baby is doing fine. Hang in there.
The hospital always told me If the bleeding gets heavy, clotted and accompanied with pain then that is a higher risk.
Oh wow I did not know that about symptoms coming and going at all. Sorry to hear you had all that stress to deal with so early on. I worry about my husband because it’s soooo hard for him, not much he can do other than encourage me to rest and take it easy- which is SO hard to do, but what my aunt the midwife also told me to do when I spoke to her last night. Thank you SO much for your reply, your reassurance has really helped. I have my scan booked 3 weeks time- so unless something more major happens between now and then, i’ll Just wait it out I guess and hope this one sticks. Thank you xxxx
Hiya. Just wanted to say how sorry I am going through this, it's very scary. I had a big bleed at 6.5 weeks. And went for a scan at the EPU. I also didn't have many symptoms, but some people don't. My scan was fine and showed 2x naughty pumpkins heartbeats. Please go in, either way you will want to know. I really hope it's good news for you. Xxx
Oh wow- did you know you were pregnant with twins? Congratulations!!
Thank you for your reply, that has helped - all helps bolster my positivity- i’m Trying desperately hard not too panic or get too emotional about it, as that’s just a vicious circle, so your reassurance really makes a difference. Thank you for taking the time to reply and good luck with your twins!! Xx
I knew we'd had 2x transferred, but we never believed 2 would stick! My nausea started at 6 weeks but things didn't really kick in until 9 weeks. I'm still sick now!
I really hope all is ok for you, I'll be thinking about you on Monday. Xx
Im glad to hear that the bleeding had settled down, sorry to hear that you've had this scare. Could you maybe ask the clinic to scan you to check all is ok? Or to do some bloods for you? Hoping its just one of those scary bleeds and all is ok, Ive seen a few ladies saying that their symptoms come and go!xx
Thank you Cinderella5! The nurse just phoned me and said the same as you, she has booked me in for a scan on Monday just for reassurance. She said it’s not because she is worried but just to put my mind at rest as she has personal experience and she said the reassurance will help. She said what you said about the symptoms, I honestly never knew that before today! Crikey it’s scarey how many unknown things there are! Just keeping fingers crossed it will be ok. Thank you for your reply xxxxxxxxxx
I will do, thank you so much - you guys are keeping me sane xxx
I bled heavily at 6 weeks and 6+3 weeks then lightly until 10 weeks. Also my symptoms disappeared at 8 weeks but the clinic said this is normal as your hormones start to balance out.
I got a scan at EPAC on the day of the second bleed and everything was fine and then I had a scan weekly until 12 weeks.
If you can try and get a scan booked and try and rest up xx
Wow, so surprising how many people bleed in the first trimester and go on to have a normal pregnancy. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and share your experience, it is such a huge help and makes me feel much more at ease. Lots love xxx
I’m glad to hear that you’re now booked in for a scan on Monday and hopefully that will be able to give you some reassurance. Keeping everything crossed for you and of course, please let us know how you get on xx
Hi Laceygirl. I'm pleased to read that you are having a scan on Monday, hopefully just for reassurance. Good to hear that the bleeding has settled down. I don't know if you realise, and forgive me if you do, but when your little one is developing in the womb, he/she doesn't have a placenta to start off with. It develops from the chorionic villi in the womb lining, as as it develops, sometimes a bleed like this can occur. This is what I am hoping has happened. Don't worry about symptoms as some of us hardly have anything, then others are forever with their head down the toilet! Keeping everything crossed for you, rest when you can and I shall be thinking of you on Monday. Diane
Thanks for your reply Diane. It was very much appreciated. I have now had the scan and all was, thankfully, fine! They said there was something on top of the sac that would have caused the bleed - sorry I can’t remember what she said, she was a trainee and I couldn’t understand her very well- but the consultation with the nurse afterwards she said a bit more bleeding is fine, not to worry- but obviously if there is loads - then do worry. In essence, all fine and they could see a heart beat - so totally thrillled with that. Thanks again everyone for your time in replying. Xxxx
Hi Laceygirl. That's so good to hear. Sounds like there might have been a small haematoma causing the spotting. Very common and should resolve itself. How thrilling to see your little one beating away. Time to book your appointment with your midwife soon. Hope all continues to be OK. Thinking of you. Diane xx
