I think it might all be over before it really started.
I've just had some bright red bleeding. Not loads but enough that I felt it as I was walking along and it's not caused by the wiping or the pessaries as it's too much. I'm away with friends and don't know what to do 😢.
We've called the clinic and they have just told me to up the medication. I think I am preparing myself for the worst. Any experience of this? Thanks xx

hi pebbles, how are you doing? Sending all the love. I don’t have answers or any experience of this but hoping you’re ok and fingers crossed for a positive outcome xxx
I’m so sorry 🥺 this bloody journey robs us of so many tears. Sending you strength and hope 🤞🏼xx
so sorry Pebbles, I have seen quite a few people on here bleed but still be ok, there are sometimes haematomas and they seem more common during ivf pregnancies. I so hope that’s the case for you and it’s not the news you fear. Thinking of you, heaps of luck xx
I had this at 5/6 weeks pregnant, a gush of bright red blood then bled for a few hours then went to brown spotting for days, had a scan and all was fine, the bleeding was from a subchorionic haematoma xx
thank you so much. I'm so scared that I can't even take a pregnancy test this morning because I'm afraid of what I will see . Im so glad it was ok for you and it's lovely of you to share this xx
I had 2 pretty massive red bleeds around 6/7 weeks. They were really scary and I assumed the worst too. I ended up going to A&E with the first one and they scanned me, to my surprise the baby was still in there! A later scan showed a small haematoma so I assume it was caused by this. I'm now 18 weeks. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you have something similar xxx
congratulations on getting to 18 weeks and for sending positive energy my way. It's really good to hear that it worked for you. It's just so scary isn't it? I didn't feel prepared to see any bleeding so think I was just shocked.
It's so so shocking! Both times it happened I fully thought it was all over, there was a lot of blood! I'm still paranoid now and every time I go to the loo I sort of brace myself for it. Not sure the fear will ever fully go away but for now I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that things stay ok! If you are worried I'd recommend referring yourself to the early pregnancy unit at the hospital where they can scan you. They were super helpful with me. Best of luck with it all! Xx
hi pebbles I had some bleeding on Friday. I booked myself in for a reassurance scan and I have two haematomas - they are more common as mentioned above in ivf pregnancies. I know blood is scary and it’s so much easier said than done but please try & relax as much as possible. Xx
thank you and I'm glad that you got some reassurance. I don't know if I should take a pregnancy test today? I haven't had any more bleeding. I can't have a scan until next week as I'm not 6 weeks until tomorrow xx
I’m not sure a pregnancy test will give you the reassurance you need. As the bleeding has stopped I would just take it easy and rest as much as possible. I had a scan on Friday at 6 weeks and could only see the sac and yolk sac (so this has made me anxious) but I know the bleeding was the haematomas xx
I had cramps and bright red bleeding at 7 weeks, thankfully it lasted only a day and all was fine, I think must have been a haematoma.
Just a note on pregnancy tests, I don't think that will tell you anything, it takes a while for your HCG levels to change so women who do miscarry can show positive on pregnancy tests for a while after.
thank you for the advice about pregnancy tests. I took one and it was a very dark line but I know this is meaningless. I want to be hopeful but feel a bit down about it.
I'm so glad things worked out for you, I'm clinging on to these stories! xx
I had a large bleed with very painful cramps at 6 weeks and was sure it was over. Booked a private scan to discover I had a large subchorionic haematoma but the baby was OK. I was told to stop the baby aspirin, reduce movement and keep up with my medication. Bleeds happen and there could be many reasons behind them. Good luck!
I had a bleed at 7 weeks I called 111 was sent to local A&E who sent me up to the pregnancy assessment unit, they weren’t able to scan me for another 24hrs but when they did all was well.
I’m now 24 weeks.
Hopefully will be the same for you, try and get seen at your local early pregnancy unit to get your mind put to rest. Best of luck I know how worrying it can be. x
