bright red bleed 9dp4dt and then nothing…?

after 1.5 years of ivf treatment (4 rounds), I’ve never posted on any forum as I’ve never got to the point of having anything to transfer. This last (and what is our final attempt) I had an embryo to transfer - they did 4day for some reason, but it was a good looking one.

took a test 6dp4dt and it was a faint positive, then next 3 days it got stronger ( I know we’re not supposed to test but having never seen a line before, I wanted that experience).

This morning I had a bright red bleed, more than spotting, but not full flow and then absolutely nothing for the rest of the day. Having read ALOT - red blood is a big no no, so I’m expecting it to be a chemical, but reaching out in case anyone has a similar experience that had a positive outcome…

Hope the bleeding has settled - may be due to irritation if using pessaries, also because of effect of extra hormones [stim meds] it can cause increase blood flow. Best wait for OTD before testing again- this will be hard so try to keep busy -eat well -drink plenty of fluids - takes meds as directed and rest when you can

thank you Janet. I’ve managed to get in for early BT tomorrow and will definitely not be going to the tests again. I do have a sensitive cervix (bleed during screenings etc) so I’m sure the crinone isn’t helping). It’s the waiting and trying to keep your mind occupied that’s so torturous.

So appreciate you taking the time to respond

Hi, congrats on your positive, I also test early so no judgement here. I had a bright red bleed about 14DP5DT it went and had a bit of brown spotting. I have my 7 month son from that transfer. So there's still hope. I hope the bleeding stays away and you can get booked in for a scan after your OTD x

thank you so much for reply. I know everyone is different, but it is so comforting to know others have experienced similar situations and had success. This part is worse than all the injections!

So lovely of you to share your story

Update: (because I know how frustrating it is when scanning the forums for similar cases to not know how things went)

Hcg 105 so at this point in time I can finally say I’m officially pregnant!

Progesterone isn’t as high as Dr would like, which might explain the bleed. Or it may be that I’m going through a chemical. BT again in 3 days to find out which direction I’m going in. 🤞🏻

Have upped progesterone and given orders to relax (I’m failing miserably).

Having been told by my doctor after the last round that he would give a chance of even getting an embryo to transfer to be about 5%, and he recommended we don’t do a round 4… I’m still in shock we’ve got this far. It might not end up the outcome we are a desperately hoping for, but I think even if that happens, I’ll feel better knowing we got this far (and I’ve 1 on ice)

What an incredibly tough journey ivf is.
