1st appointment advice

Hi ladies

Hope you are all well. I wondered if you could help... i have my 1st IVF nurse appointment tomorrow and was just wondering if they do ultrasound ? My period came yesterday will this cause any issues? Also will this mean i have to wait another month before i can start my treatment?

Heads a bit mush at the moment as i had pregnancy symptoms the past 2 weeks, think im going off my rocker and actually convincing myself now! the joys! xxx

They usually go ahead and do the US scan anyway. I know it doesnt sound too pleasant but they're used to these things so try not to worry! Im not quite sure where you are or what protocol you are having or if you even have your protocol/drugs yet but if you're not sure then give the clinic a call. They should be able to tell you if you will have to wait to start treatment. Good luck.xx

Thanks hun, I think its the long protocol i'm having but that's all i know at this stage, hopefully find out more tomorrow. Was just worried incase i was delayed because of period, just want this started now xx

I did the long protocol and its usually started on day 21 of your cycle so they may be able to let you start meds this cycle if you are at the top of the witing list to start.xx

fingers crossed. It was just spotting last night but heavy today, should i count my period from last night do you think? :S how long were you on treatment on the long protocol ?xx

Full flow is day 1 so Im guessing today is day 1. It really just depends on the clinic (as we were NHS and they need to control the cycles) also on how you respond to the meds so everyone is different.xx

Try not to worry, you'll do just fine! Im good thanks, for scan done and all going according to plan so fingers crossed that it continues!xx
