Hey all for my next fet my consultant said I could take prednisolone if I wanted to, as the last two rounds were miscarriages. I'm not classed as recurrent miscarriage yet so this is the only other thing extra they can offer for this round. My consultant doesn't think we have an immune problem (obviously she doesnt know for sure) and said that it is completely up to us if we want to take it or not. I've been reading stuff online and I don't like the sound of all the side effects and possible birth defects. I'm really not sure what to do. Would you take it if it was offered?? Xx

Prednisolone should I or shouldn't I?
Hi Hun, I took the steriod on my third cycle and am currently 17 weeks pregnant. Growth wise my baby is on point so far, I have my 20 week scan soon. I didn't have any side effects as in not sleeping etc. I took the tablet in the morning as advised by my proffersor. I have high NK cells and was diagnosed at coventry and warick hospital. After having two implantation failures I believe the steriods helped. X
I took it after advise from overseas clinic. I had slightly elevated NK cells. Our new uk clinic has said not to use. They said trials have shown more harm than good. Seems the information is very conflicted. I do know since I have had two bout of cold that’s not gone and the fet didn’t work. Think you just have to trust who you are with. Good luck xx
Thanks xx
Firstly I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriages.
I was given prednisone which I took early pregnancy ( I miscarried) I had no ill side effects. I have slightly raised nk cells at 12% so fertility doctor has authorised me to take prednisone 5mg twice daily till 12 weeks. You’d probably only take during the early weeks too. He also issued progesterone pessaries for first 12 weeks as a safety precaution.
What have you got to lose by trying additional meds ? Im sure she wouldn’t offer it if she thought it wasn’t suitable for you. Personally I’d want to everything I could to give it the best chance. 😊
You must do what feels right for you and only you know that .
Good luck xoxo
Thanks Jess I'm sorry to hear of your loss too. I was up for trying it before I started googling! It's a bad invention sometimes. They don't know if I have high nk levels as I've not been tested I can't have any tests until 3 miscarriages in a row. So my consultant has said if we want it we can have it as it may help. This whole journey is a minefield. Good luck with your operation on Monday xx
Hey lovely, how are you doing? Bet your heads all over the place with this been put forward to you. I personally think weigh up the pros and cons do the research and see what you feel go with your heart. If it was me I'd research and find if there was something in the natural scale that does the same as or equivalent to it and I'd take that. But that's me I do have a tendancy to not listen to drs where others would. I wish you all the best with whatever you decide. Sending you lots of positive vibes gorgeous. Love you lots
😘😘💖💖
Thanks my lovely. There's lots of conflicting information online so it's hard to judge. I may not even have an immune problem so it may not even help. How are you doing? Lots of love and big hugs xxx
