Costs?

Hi

So apparently if we were lucky enough for our first round of ivf to work, and if we were then lucky enough to have an embryo we could freeze, we will then have to pay for the frozen transfer. You all kindly advised me it was a lot cheaper than paying for a fresh one as a lot of the work will be done already, but very roughly how much are we talking?

I know the chances of this happening are very low but we are just trying to work out our finances for every possible outcome in this journey.

Thank you xx

Hi, your clinic should give you a list of any costs involved even if you are currently NHS funded. Please be aware that not only would you need to fund the FET and any drug costs for a second pregnancy, but you would also need to pay to keep the embryos frozen which is normally a monthly fee xxx

For a FET I paid £1,000 which included scans and the transfer - this was natural fet rather than medicated. If you go down medicated you will need to factor those costs in (sorry I don’t know how much they all are) I had to have treatment for nk cells which cost around £2-3K on top on the fet so around £3.5k for a fet. X

Our first fresh round with the nhs failed and we only got one fet and that failed too- nhs paid for a years freezing but we moved our embryos to our private clinic as we wanted to do another round straight away which cost £300 for the year (we got half back as we used the embryos pretty much within 3 months) but we also had to pay for the embryos to be transported from kings in London to our private clinic which cost money too! Xx

My clinic at the time of my fresh transfer said an FET would be around £2500 by obviously costs will go up yearly xx

Our old clinic charges £2000 but we got a quote for £1000 while researching a new clinic. That’s minus the drugs on both though xx

I can’t remember the exact cost but I budget around £2k for a frozen cycle inc drugs. That’s without add-ons though (although if your first fresh cycle works then add-ons are unlikely to be recommended for your frozen). Good luck! x
