Had egg collection yesterday, got 14 eggs and 12 were mature. Clinic has said they had a good sperm sample as well but we’ve just been told that only 1 egg has fertilised. They’re going to do a day 3 transfer so there’s still some hope.
Feeling a bit deflated, anyone have any good news stories for me from a similar situation??
Thanks xx

I started with 11 and by day 3 we only had one fertilised egg. We changed from a frozen to a fresh transfer and I am currently 16 weeks pregnant today. It only takes one little egg fingers crossed for u xxx
One is definitely enough! I have everything crossed for you that this is your rainbow baby! X
I just read your previous posts though and, if it doesn’t work out this round, I would strongly suggest you and hubbie get chromosome karyotyping. Your story sounds pretty similar to mine. We were told our poor fertilisation and poor progression of embryos was egg quality but we insisted on a whole load of tests before accepting this, and found out that actually my husband carries a balanced chromosome translocation. This affects fertilisation and embryo development and also causes miscarriages. It’s pretty rare (1 in 550 people, both male and female) so they don’t routinely test for it unless you’ve had three miscarriages- but this is no use if you can’t get pregnant in the first place! Turns out there’s nothing wrong with my egg quality after all. I’ve had a further round of ivf since, had the embryos pgd tested and we are now 16 weeks pregnant.
We’ve had the chromosome testing and the results were all ok. They changed my drugs this time so they are saying that might have had an effect on fertilisation as we’ve had good fertilisation in the past and this doesn’t follow our previous experience.
We had 12 collected, 3 fertilized but only 1 matured enough on our first cycle. We had the day 3 transfer. Felt really deflated after finding that out.
But 14 weeks later we are out of our first trimester. Had all our scans and baby is looking very happy in there.
