After trying naturally for a long we started IVF journey quite late at age 41 but no success after few cycles, and a break of almost a year now, my clinic suggested the only way forward is egg donar route, I am anxious about it at age 44 now, the adaption is no option for us.
Any success stories please?

yes, I have just turned 44 and welcomed my DE little girl 4 months ago. I bought 7 frozen eggs, got 2 embryos and the first one worked.
I know it’s very individual but age is only one factor. I had a very straight forward, complication free pregnancy. It’s definitely not too late and although I had many anxieties when I was making my decision to use donor eggs, they all disappeared when my wonderful little girl arrived. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I m 43 and just welcomed my DE twins. Had 15eggs and 11embryos , transferred 2 and now I m a twin mum. It is a difficult decision using DE but it’s only one cell and you need to have more than that to have a baby. The rest will come from you. All the best xx
Yes, our LG is 14 months old and is DE. We bought 6 eggs and got 3 embryos 1 of which is our DD. I'm 44 soon to be 45, we'd has a couple of rounds with OE but wasn't successful. Our daughter was first attempt and we were lucky enough for it to work. Good luck with your journey xx
yes I went Instituto Bernabeu in Spain for DE treatment and had a healthy baby boy at 44. He’s now seven, it was definitely the right decision for me and my husband.
Following as just about to embark on this journey. We have out first appointment in Spain early November. I too have so many anxieties and unfortunately I am a forward thinker so over think future issues (that may never happen) but luckily we've found a clinic that have been so understanding and flexible. We've had the same person dealing with us the whole time and answered questions, supported emotions and given reassurance and we haven't even paid a penny yet. (So different to our UK experience). Feel free to stay in touch/dm me. It's nice to not feel alone in this journey xxx
After failed attempts with my own eggs, I moved to donor eggs (double donor), it was attempt number 4 with the donor eggs so please do bear that in mind, I was devastated when my first transfer was a chemical, the second was a miscarriage after a heartbeat at the 6 week scan and the third was a negative as I had just assumed it would work as egg quality was the main issue. I was 46 when I started the donor egg route and gave birth to a healthy boy this march at he grand old age of 47. It was a straightforward pregnancy but due to age and ivf was consultant led.
I went to Spain for the treatment and can’t fault them.
I have been through a long IVF journey and had to go down the route with donor eggs. I had 3 unsuccessful transfers with donor eggs, but the 4 th transfer was successful and I now have a beautiful daughter who’s nearly 2! I was the same age as you are now!
I have used a UK based clinic.
For me, it was the best thing I have ever done and worth all the heartache that we encountered on our IVF journey!
Hi Katya. I had 7 failed rounds with my own eggs before moving on -to donor eggs. We were then successful on the first transfer with donor eggs and my baby boy is now 8 months and my absolute world 🥰 good luck on your journey x
Had 5 cycles with my OE. After last cycle when there was nothing to transfer moved to DE. We used DD and it took a further 4 cycles for success. Now have a 7 month year old. I was 47 when I had her. Good luck! Xx
we made the decision to move to donor eggs last year. So far no success after 5 transfers (3 chemicals) but we are trying again soon with a different donor. There is a great community I joined called paths to parent hub - they have lots of prerecorded material and a monthly support group. It’s run by Becky Kearns (definingmum on Instagram) who has had 3 girls via donor eggs
I had a my twin girls on my third DE transfer. There are lots of success stories with DE Ava first transfers but it’s not always the case. It’s just like with getting pregnant naturally, the stars must align and then it happens. We were ready to give up and asked to transfer two and they both stuck!
I had lots of worries about using donor eggs but once my girls arrived it all melted away. We have a lovely book called Our Story from the donor conception network and we read it with them (they are 2). We want to be upfront and for it to just be part of their story from th beginning. There’s no doubt that I am mummy and that connection is incredible ❤️
I wish you all the best with this journey! Happy to answer any questions if you have them. Xx
I understand your concerns. I had them too. We had two failed IVF rounds with my own eggs. At 44 I was told the only realistic option was donor eggs.
We too worked with a clinic from Spain. I got pregnant on our first attempt and am now mum to a healthy 1 year old boy. Yes, I am an older mum, I was 45 when I gave birth, but it was a healthy and happy pregnancy and he is the light our lives. I know we were fortunate in so many ways, but you can be too.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them,
Good luck. Just remember these are the last couple of years of being able to try, I was aware of that, and you do what you need to to make your dream come true. Once the time has passed, you can't go back. This is how I felt.
