Has anyone had a Hycosy test anyone in London? Advice please?

Hi

I've been researching that possibly a hycosy test would be good to check if there are any blockages in my tubes. I've been reading reviews about clinics in London and sounds like many have had bad experiences so I'm finding it difficult to choose. I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who has been through the same procedure.

We're still waiting to receive an appointment with a fertility clinic through nhs and thought whilst we continue to wait we can get other tests done which might help in the mean time.

Any advice? Or any other tests we should have?

(A bit of background, I have PCOS and I've had blood tests and ultrasound and my husband has had semen analysis and his side is all good- we've been ttc for nearly 2 years And no luck at all)

Hey! I had the hycosy!

I didn't feel much pain - just like a normal period cramp. Was quite quick and just kept calm and breathing deeply and it was over.

Not sure if it is the same for everyone but I found it totally manageable, the HSG was more painful.

Have you had the HSG?

Anything else you want to know please ask.

Hey

Thanks for your message.

Oh no I have not had either.

Did you have them done privately or via nhs?

I'm a bit confused on where to go.

I had both through Nhs at homerton.

They started me on HSG and the result was inconclusive so we had to have hycosy to confirm tubes were open.

Some people find these procedures beneficial as it can clear out all the gunk in the tubes, even if they are not 'blocked'.

I have a friend that conceieved after HSG as it cleaned things out.

We didn't though 🙂

Can you get it on the NHS? The waiting list was not that long...we kept calling for cancellations.

Thanks for your message.

I'm still waiting for my referral to go through. I have not received an appointment to see a specialist yet and my GP had referred me around 3 months ago.

So in the mean time I'm thinking that I can try and go for a HSG now whilst I wait to even receive an appointment as I don't want to waste precious time.

I wonder if I can pay and just have the HSG done in Homerton anyways.

Because of where I am based, my referral clinic will be Homerton also so that's comforting to know that you have experience of being at the same clinic as it can all be overwhelming.

Hey! Just responded on the other thread....not sure if you can pay...but the wait shouldn't be that long.....I think....you can always ask them.
