Day 8 of stims - monitoring scan

Hi All,

Feeling a bit low today. On day 8 of injections and since the headaches and cramps of Day 1 I have felt nothing at all. It's had me really worried that I wasn't responding at all to the injections.

Anyway I had my first monitoring scan today and told them I didn't think it was working. They did the scan and didn't say much. I asked at the end - so is it working?! And the nurse advised that there are 2 follicles at 16mm but then a bit of a gap between them and the rest with the rest being a couple at 12, 1 at 10 and all the others smaller. I'm having scans again on Weds to see how coming along and they haven't changed my meds so trying not to worry. She said the 2 at 16mm will probably be written off as will likely go off on their own and we'll need to wait for the smaller follicles to grow to give us a better chance as hopefully there will be a larger number.

I guess I just feel deflated as they were expecting me to respond really well and had told me to expect EC this Friday but now that's up on the air again depending on how things are looking on Weds. Also I guess because we have male factor infertility I was just expecting my part to run really smoothly - not sure I can cope with the thought of both sides having issues!

I guess I'm just looking for any other similar experiences where you've still had a good amount of follicles by EC? Or top tips to help my follicles along.

It’s still early days. I had 1 follicle at 14mm 1 at 12mm and some under 10mm on cd7. Went for another scan today cd12 and I had one 20mm, 1 15mm and a 14mm follicle. I was disappointed too as the consultant said I would respond well. He thinks I should have 5 by Friday. Just got to keep hoping.

I had the same both cycles with my follicles only being around the 10-12 mark and smaller. I ended up with 8 one cycle and 6 on the other. I’m sure you’ll catch up come EC xxx
