What should I see on a 4 week scan??

Anyone ever had a scan at 4 weeks...if you did, what did you see? I had a scan but all I saw was a black circle. I'm working myself up because I think I should have seen more and didn't. I keep doing tests just to see if the lines are still there but it was quite faint this morning. Sorry I'm just worried....

Is this your first scan after a transfer? How soon after otd are you? On otd, if it’s positive you’re already classed as 4 weeks and generally won’t get your first scan until around 6 weeks or a bit after that as it’s hard to see anything before at least 6 weeks xx

Thank ypu for taking the time to message me Tugsgirl. I found out Friday 1st I was pregnant but I have a friend that is a sonographer so she scanned me on the monday. I didn't see much but wanted to know of I should have saw something in that black circle.

Wouldn’t your friend be the best person to advise you on this? I really don’t think you’d see much so early though, even the early pregnant unit at my hospital won’t scan until six weeks and that’s an internal scan. Please try not to worry and maybe step away from the tests- the darkness of the line is affected by the concentration of your urine more than anything else!

Ps I agree with Lizzielizzielizzie, tests aren’t really a reliable indication. I’ve had two missed miscarriages last year and my tests were really strong positives, I had no idea we’d lost our babies, the tests just gave me false hope xx

Just had a look at my week by week guide, and at 4 weeks it says the embryo is still the size of a poppy seed! Not surprised at all if you couldn't see anything. But I agree with the above, if your friend scanned you then she should be the best person to ask?

I had a scan at 12 weeks said the baby had stopped growing at about 6 weeks all I could see was a dot. So 4 weeks would be very little to see good luck x
