FET March, anyone else?

Hi everyone, we have just found out we are having our first FET in March, waiting af to start hopefully by next weekend and then starting meds. We had a fresh cycle in 2019 so never done a frozen cycle. I made a really good friend last time and it was nice to chat to others going through it so thought I would see if anyone else would like to! X

Hey Minnie,

I start my medication for my second frozen transfer in March. Just waiting for my cycle which should start beginning of March (unless it’s late which it may be).

Was your fresh cycle successful?

I’ve had a fresh cycle and one frozen so far but sadly both failed. I’m hoping it’s third time lucky ☘️ Xxx

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Yes my fresh cycle was successful and I know I am so so lucky. I have been following your posts and I am so sorry your fresh and frozen didn’t work, it really is just so stressful. What medication will you be taking? Xx

I’m hopefully having a natural FET in March too. Waiting on AF at the end of the month 🤞🏻🤞🏻 What meds are you having? X

Oooh how exciting! I was meant to be having a natural transfer but the clinic have decided to do a medicated one I think they have more control over transfer day then. I will be take Oestradiol for the first couple of weeks and then add in progesterone. Is this your first frozen cycle? X

Keeping my fingers crossed for you af shows up on time! I felt like once I decided I was ringing the clinic I was desperate for af to arrive 😅 x

Yip! Spend our lives wanting AF to come to start a FET or not wanting it to come during the 2ww. No wonder our heads are fried lol xx

Hi Minnie I'll start my meds for my 2nd FET in March. All I need to do now is wait for February's AF then on cycle day 21 I start down regulation.

if all goes well I'll have my transfer sometime in April!

what's your protocol like?

Minnie92 profile image
Minnie92 in reply toSandD2020

Hi SandD! Af due next weekend and I start oestradiol for 2 weeks, lining scan on the 8/9th March and if lining ok transfer will be around a week later. Iv got 4 day 5 blastocysts left 🤞🏼What medication will you be taking?

SandD2020 profile image
SandD2020 in reply toMinnie92

oh ok! I have to down regulate with buserelin my lining has to be thin first

then I take Oestradiol to thicken the lining. then I have the transfer and I'll be using Lubion and Cyclogest for progesterone.

I did have a miscarriage in Jan I'm worried that my Feb period won't come in time ect. I have very regular periods usually. we have 1 embryo left! hopefully 3rd time's the charm. best of luck xx

Hi Minnie I had my first cycle and Egg retrieval with freeze all on Friday, hoping for FET end of March. Had 8 eggs fertilised so hopefully a few will make it to day 5!

Hi GemGem! Hope you’re feeling ok after your egg retrieval 🤞🏼 And well done for getting so many fertilised eggs that’s amazing! I got 7 in my fresh cycle and ended up with 5 day 5 blastocysts, are you due a phone call with the embryologist for updates soon?

There were 12 eggs retrieved and too many follicles to count - I have PCOS. They phoned me yesterday and just said they’d phone me Thursday with final numbers I think... I was just too happy to have such a good result! I had a bad time in the last few days before EC with OHSS. I literally couldn’t stand up. I felt even worse afterwards. Just about feeling human today except for the bloating. Now having to take cabergoline and inject fragmin until told otherwise.

That’s amazing bet you’re excited to find out your final number of embryos on Thursday! Aw bless you that’s awful. I was on the brink of OHSS when I had my fresh transfer they said my ovaries were still massive and swollen so I can remember the pain so well. At least you’ve given your body a rest ready for transfer, make sure you look after yourself 💗

How is everyone getting on with there treatment/cycle? I started my oestradiol yesterday and feeling a bit knackered to be honest xx

Great news! Not long to wait now for you! AF is horrendous for me this month feeling utterly crap! Hope it’s my last one for a while too 🤞🏼Xx

Heya :) started my oestradiol Wednesday just gone so I’m on day 3.... so far feeling ok just tired. First FET since a successful fresh end of 2018 (our little boy is 18 months) - hoping it works as it’s our only frostie! Good luck to you on this FET 🤞🙏 x

Hey! I started Oestradiol on Wednesday too! I’m feeling tired and getting bad headaches. When is you lining scan? X

McQueeny profile image
McQueeny in reply toMinnie92

I know! Headaches here too.... first scan Friday 5th, how about you? On previous FETs (before our successful fresh) my lining wasn’t great so I’m hopeful it’s better this time.... 🤞 x

Minnie92 profile image
Minnie92 in reply toMcQueeny

Hope the headaches ease 😢 my scan is the 10th so day 13 of medication, transfer booked for 16th if lining ok. Oh really have you done anything differently this time to help your lining? X

McQueeny profile image
McQueeny

Thanks, you too, it’s not fun. Ah that’s good! I don’t have a date yet, they’ll confirm depending on the scan.... I spoke to my doctor about the lining so they put me on a slightly higher dose apparently (can’t remember what I was on last time) so hoping it’ll make a difference!🤞 not sure what else I can do.... x
