2 embryos on board!

So today was embryo transfer. I thought we would be told about the quality of our embryos sooner than we did, we found out we had a 3AB and 3BC and had to make the choice in the theater room weather to transfer one or two. I broke down crying, the embryologist said that he wasn't sure if I'd have any good enough to freeze so we had to choose to risk twins (I think I'd struggle with twins, both physically, I'm quite small, and mentally) or slightly up our chances and not lose one of our little embies.... So we had a moment, had a chat, gathered our thoughts and decided to go with two. So now we have to wait just over a week for test day. We are off on holiday on Tuesday so will be testing while abroad, although I'd rather wait, I don't want a downer on our holiday if it's negative, do you think I could wait to test? I'm going to call the clinic on Monday and see what they say. What an emotional roller-coaster!

Hello, i hope it all goes well for you and try not to stress as whats happened has happened so try and feel positive and use your holiday for this. I would personally wait to test until after holiday as I wouldn’t want to be on holiday whilst having any bad news. And if you look on the bright side you may test once your back here get a BFP and can be happy! Good luck to you xxxxxx

I think going on holiday during the 2ww is a great idea to take your mind off everything. I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t wait until you get back to test - clinics have different test days and some are almost 2 weeks after transfer. I’d just let your clinic know that’s what your planning to do. Good luck and hope you enjoy the holiday.

Things they don’t put in the IVF handbook.... - IVF is an emotional roller coaster and throws you in to a spin of emotions when you least expect it.

You enjoy that holiday. Spending the 2ww relaxed is a great idea. I’m sure you can test when you want; and by the time you’ve relaxed a bit... you never know you might just want to know the result while you’re away. So pack a test just in case. Big hugs and well done you warrior x

Definitely relax and have fun and test when you get back. I had 2 transferred, one higher grade and one lower which wouldn't have got to freeze. I'm now 12 weeks with a single pregnancy. My mum is tiny and I'm a twin, she was fine and my sis and I were perfectly healthy and only 2 weeks early. The body can do amazing things. Have a lovely holiday xx
