Edinburgh IVF waiting list and procedures

Hello, can anyone tell how long they had to wait for to start IVF treatment in edinburgh? Hubby and I went for the smoke test today so we are now on waiting list

I’m in Fife and had to wait about 6 months but I think I was put higher up the list because I’m older. Think it can depend on your age.x

I am 35 and worried my chances are getting slim of having a baby if having to wait long

You can phone and ask the hospital where you are on the list. They should be able to give you an idea. It’s a nightmare waiting isn’t it.x

Hello. Well, usually clinics take month or two to assign IVF dates. Depending on the number of traffic they have. I'm also undergoing my IVF this July at a repro center in Ukraine. They just confirmed my dates this month. Initially, they ran some tests for me. Secondly, they also have a healthy traffic of candidates. So, yes! It usually takes time. Stay calm and strong! We had our first appointment in November i think it was, then treatment should of started in Feb but we had another issue needing sorted so our treatment started in March. So less than 6 months for us. Nurses at the ERI are all lovely and are so helpful. X
