Hi Lynn, we had to wait about 8 months once we were put on the list till we started, but once we got our first proper ivf appointment it all moved pretty fast. I think we had bloods done at the first appointment and a bit of a chat. We had another appointment 2 weeks later where we got the meds and shown how to use and got the schedule. I started meds a few days later due to the way my cycle fell. I think every clinic is a bit different tho. Hopefully the waiting list won't be too long, good luck xo

Is being put on the list an official yes to funding i just wasn't a hundred percent sure if it was? 🙈🤔

To be honest I'm not sure, at no point did they ever really mention funding to us, but I would like to think if ur on the waiting list that u would be approved.Hope it comes around quickly for u 😊xo

Thank you that's why i was confused as they said they needed to check things with our dr but also worded it like it was going ahead as everything looked promising so i didn't want to get my hopes up just incase, the dr mentioned going for an information session next and maybe starting ivf after april so that's why i wasn't quite sure

Hi Lyn. I think "jm" has pretty well covered what will happen. I do have a list of questions you might like to have a look through before you go, in case there's something you may like to ask. You would need to email me in confidence if you want them, to support@fertilitynetworkuk.org and I will get them to you. Meanwhile, I wish you well when you go, and of course for success with whatever treatment you need. Diane

Sorry to jump on this post. I have had a few appointments at the fertility clinic and they have now said we need ivf. We have an information evening in march then our 'top of the waiting list' appointment (they said this would be to go through consent etc) in april. You mentioned some questions there that you would suggest to ask. Would i be able to have those please?

Hi higoo. Of course I can. I’m at home now, but if you email me at support@fertilitynetworkuk.org I can send them to you when back in my office on Friday. My emails are confidential and just come to me. Diane

Sorry that was suppose to say I've had my date for my info session its on the 22nd of feb, i know what you mean i was so excited when i got the appointments but I'm also scared that its happening so soon! My friend told me off last night for over thinking everything so much but i know its just fear causing it 🙈

Youre about a month ahead of me then by the looks of things. I keep doing the exact same, its taken over my mind completely! How long has it taken you to get to this point if you dont mind me asking? And at which hospital? I had my first referral apt at the clinic last june and then lots of scans/blood tests/sperm samples for my partner etc. A couple more appointments later and now theyve said definitely moving on with ivf as i have blocked tubes but everything else seems ok. I havent heard anything about funding or anythingjust that we have the information session then the consent appointment where we have to bring proof of ID and passport photos for them etc. I know everyone has a completely different experience and thats what makes this so difficult because i like to plan and would love to know what kind of timeframes we are working to. I guess we all do. Its such a waiting game!!

I got referred in may by my endo specialist to a fertility nurse in wrexham and while we were waiting did all the blood tests and sperm test was suppose to see her in june but as she was off sick it kept getting cancelled so saw her in october and she referred us straight for ivf as i have endo and my partners results weren't the best either went to ivf clinic in shewsbury in december had a scan they said it would normally be a yr wait but as i have endo dr said he would ask for me to start in april and i got the call last week for my appointments having my dye test on tubes next month i haven't been told about the I.D of passport photos so glad you said that!

Sounds like youve had an kind of similar journey to me then, not the same issue but similar kind of times. You were referred in may and now got your appointments about a month ahead of mine and i was referred in june and a month behind you. Ive not once been told about a wait time or waiting list but going to call and ask. I literally just received the letter saying about the ID etc you might receive one shortly as well. Im looking forward to the information evening, its with other couples etc isnt it?

I think if they find a reason for your infertility you don't wait as long as normal but if your going to the information session soon and signing paperwork that's a good sign cos they told me when i go to sign my paperwork il get the exact dates start for the ivf, the information is with other couples aswell yeah, where are you going to for your treatment?

Im being seen at james cook in middlesbrough at the moment. I believe thats the only place remotely close to me. Ive looked into their success rates etc and they look good. However they have just lost the main dr they had so currently under a different one and there isnt much in terms of reviees about her. Ooh hopefully its the same for me then, would love a timeline. Are you going to do anything like accupuncture beforehand? Ive read so many different things but have no idea if its worth it or not
