My ivf clinic states categorically that you must not take Chinese medicine whilst doing ivf as it can affect outcomes negatively. They’re fine with acupuncture.

Just so you know, mine is a large chain of private clinics, they have extremely good success rates so I trust their judgement.

My NHS clinic advised against, however private clinic were open to them. I took them on my last cycle, but stopped 5 days before transfer due to starting other meds (this was a semi natural FET) I did get a bfp that cycle but had a MMC at approx 8wks, this was not down to the tablets as had stopped them before transfer and have a history of recurrent miscarriage. However this was the only time I had took them and the furthest I have got with ivf (using DE as well) there are a few people on here who have had success with Chinese herbal mixed with accupuncture. I will take them again on my next go. It's a hard decision as NHS will advise against as there have not been clinical trials conducted on them, so not sure how they would effect if doing a fresh cycle. I was scared to use them but decided last cycle to try them. Mine were to 'warm my womb' and balance my hormones x

My acupuncturist advices me not to take while on IVF drugs ... too many things and you do not know how your body can react. I’d leave them if I were you

I started Chinese herbs in January but then my consultant prescribed me clomid in between ivf cycles and my herbalist told me to stop taking the herbs. I had planned to take them for three months before my next ivf cycle - the idea was for them to nourish my blood and help my lining. Timing didn't work out in the end so I only took them for a month but they said I'd need 3 months to see the benefit. I might revisit. The herbs for the first half of my cycle were disgusting 🤢but they helped to make the second next lot for the second half more palatable!
