I rang the clinic with my negative result. She told me because I haven’t had any bleeding I’ve to take another test in three days time (Friday). Has anyone else experienced or know of anyone who has? What was the outcome? Is there still hope? XxxX

I know today was your OTD but on how many days post transfer and was it a 5 or 3 day transfer. I got told to take my last test on day 14 days post 5 day transfer but I already knew I was out by then even although I hadnt had bleeding but did it just to make sure.xx

It’s day 14 after my transfer (2 frozen embryos 5 days old) so pretty much same as you. When did you get your bleeding then? X

Not until I stopped my progesterone, think it was 5 days later.xx

Did you have a blood test or a scan after or did they just rely on pregnancy tests?xxx

I had the choice to do a blood test on day 12 or a pregnancy test on day 12 but if negative had to repeat on day 14 and if negative to stop meds. I only did the hpt as blood test was hard to come by (I actually tested from around day 9 as I couldnt wait).xx

Yes I’ve taken several but the OTD was today so I’m using that as legit really. So in 3 days time I’ll be 17 days post transfer xxx

Oh dear/ my OTd was 11dp5dt and I continued my meds myself until 13dp5dt

I had had a little bleed at 10dp5dt but no one told me anything about continuing and restesting. I’m so glad I did because I felt 11dp5dt was too early.

I think the latest I’ve seen is 16dp5dt.

A blood test might be better than a urine test? You could ask your clinic- esp if 2 embryos on board.

I had a bleed straight away from when I stopped the meds but it’s only lasted one day so far 🧐 which is a bit odd.

It can take up to 7 days sometimes to have a bleed - often longer- but worth letting your clinic know if it does take longer

Thanks that’s really helpful. So I’m probably still not going to be successful this time again it seems. I suppose I’ll just have to wait and see now x

Sorry to hear your cycle hasn’t worked. My clinic have the same rules - if you haven’t started bleeding then keep taking for another 3 days. They make us test 13dp5dt so 3 days later will be 16 days. They have said it’s very rare for it to change so late but they have known it happen. For me it’s a personal decision whether you stick out the extra few days or whether you finish and move on. My first frozen cycle I had a CP but I stuck with the meds the extra 3 days just in case. My last one I just knew it hadn’t worked and I wanted off the meds so I stopped them on OTD.

Thanks honey, just don’t know what to think. I just need closure now I guess. Seeing my GP this morning and asking for a sick note so I can get my head around what’s happened.

Since November this is my third loss. As well as my mother dying Boxing Day and me sorting out the funeral, 3 failed IVF. Had a lot to contend with in the last 5 months. Just need time to reflect where I’m going next in my life. Thanks xxx

Sorry to hear you’re having such a bad time of it at the moment. Taking some time off to get your head round everything sounds like a sensible thing to do. People who haven’t been through IVF don’t get it but I think you do need to grieve every failed cycle and with everything else you’ve been through you need to take some time for yourself x
