‘Twas the night before flying, and all through the house,
Mr Emu was tutting and drumming like grouse.
Mrs Emu was packing from the sofa with care,
This fracture would not stop them from being there.
Let this be a lesson to her to slow down,
And hope she can bring a smile to her frown.’
So!
Three hours in A&E... and one confirmed Avulsion fracture to the ankle later... I’m allowed to fly and Mr Emu is angry with love at my clumsiness. I’ve got a lovely boot to wear for 6 weeks and it’s a guaranteed restful two week wait for me! Massive *eye roll*

You poor thing!!! Make sure you keep it elavated and lots of ice packs!! 💙
Oh Em!!! No way!!! Goddamn pretty shoes!! I hope that your not in too much pain. Accessorise that boot with pride, poor you 🙃😢 I hope that you feel brighter soon, I’m glad that you can fly and enjoy (!) your break xxxx
My goodness! So glad you can still fly! At least you have a great reason for very relaxing TWW! Thinking of you and wishing you all the luck in the world xxx
Eeeee gosh. I didn’t realise you weren’t out for a round. It’s hard work isn’t it. Not just financially. I think it’s the years that tick by I find the hardest x
Oh my god. I am so relived you can fly, but so sorry you have fractured your ankle. You must slow down and take care of yourself. At least know you will have to put your feet up.
Uh Oh! I'm relieved you can still fly but cue the dodgy tan line! Wishing you both all the very best for a successful cycle- will be thinking of you xx
I’m sorry for being right about the avulsion fracture but I guess it will be a good way to force you to rest... who am I kidding? That’s rubbish news and all you need. If it helps, my hubbie’s ankle was better in much less than six weeks, probably about three, but he is a bit of a superman.
Hubbie was driving again a week later but I wasn’t very happy about it, I was worried about if he had to do an emergency stop (he said he could, he practised on our close before going out) and also about whether our insurance would be valid. I think it’s much wiser to cancel the car and do hope you can sort the necessary transport out another way x
Lol Mrs Emu- I feel like our paths keep mirroring each other!
We are on a pre baby (potential) moon before OTd next week... we chose Devon instead of Lake District to avoid the hills and have some gentle walking...(!)
Torquay is not flat! Lol we ended up doing a rugged coastal walk... didn’t fracture but many close calls!
Oh fgs Mrs Emu! Jeezo, you clutz! No more running in wedges (hopefully safely rescued in the cupboard)....no more wearing shoes.....now you have a an ugly boot to wear....what a daftie, you're stressing me out lovely!!😲 No honestly I hope you're not in too much pain. Take it easy and look after yourself!!xx
I’ve bought a lovely pair of converse for my return. 😂 and agreed to wear flats for six weeks. Mr Emu says it’s for the next nine months! If anything... this round has been one epic story! How you doing? x
I'm ok ta, blood tests are still off so no treatment anytime soon for me.☹ At least I got to speak to my GP this time. He thinks it's all connected to my under active thyroid which was my gut feeling but so disappointing and frustrating. If not ok on next set then re-evaluate and either adjust meds and or refer me to a specialist. Was so pee'd off that IVF is raking over my life that we splashed out on a holiday so off to the Caribbean in 3.5wks!😎😃🍸🏖xx
