Except I booked the wrong flights! So now we have to stay for two more nights! Well; we don’t... we could pay £35 to change the flights but after Mr Emu got over the initial shock (that only a man from Yorkshire with a padlock and an industrial chain wrapped around his wallet could experience) he decided that it was a sign. We must need to stay longer to relax... despite the extra £300. “What’s £300 now?!” So three nights became five.
First baseline scan is 20th Feb. Bloods were done last week and came back showing I have an alarmingly low level of vitamin D. So now I’m taking some tablets for 8 weeks to help.
86 days to go to transfer. Eeeeek.

Ah ha ha ha ha I've honestly missed your messages about poor Mr Emu's wallet. I think my husband thinks I'm the same with my Scottish Purse!🤣🤣
Whoop whoop so pleased that everything is in motion for you! We're thinking out next transfer might be mid April which seems like an age away but I suppose it's not really!! I've also been advised to take vit D and a whole lot of other stuff. So pleased to you both, huge step for you guys!!xxx
You have had my husband and me giggling at your Yorkshire man financial dilemma 🤣🤣
May won’t be long around the corner! Funny how we seem to wait for ages and then it comes round all of a sudden! Where are you headed back too?
We are mid DE cycle, I have glorious oestrogen patches on (with sore boobs, headache and moody pants on!) including stabbing myself with clexane and suitably rattling from all my usual medication!! Hey ho!! We’ll get there hey?! xxxx
You sound like a delightful rattling bruised peach!
Good job I love him; but he does speak sense! As if I’d be happy to get on a flight with just one day of relaxing after transfer! I’d be so panicked! But then last time I just wanted to come home and cried! Can’t bloody win!
We’re off back to Cyprus. Are you doing ok apart from rattling?! x
I am my love, thank you for asking! 😘 My best friend likened me to maracas and pin cushion the other day, it’ll be worth it in the end!
It does make sense and hey there is nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the Cypriot weather and food, all business and no pleasure as they say! I’m jealous that your going abroad! Please keep me posted, thinking of you 😘😘😘
Brilliant, great to hear you’re all set. I’m sure the couple of extra nights there afterwards will be a welcome treat for you both. It’ll be £300 well spent 😊
Oh dear me! Well 3000 certaintly wont touch the surface lol, oops. Doc knows best 😊 I am ok thanks, got BFN on friday from 1st round ICSI, it sucks but doing ok. xx
Definitely enjoy the extra time, you’ll be thankful of it I’m sure. They say the first couple of days after ET can be when implantation happens so may as well get truly pampered while you can 🍀💕 xx
Just wanted to say that u provide a great deal of support on here to everyone and Iv been on the receiving end of that aswell. Ur a strong person and hope this goes soo well for u, u really deserve it and u r Defo strong xx
Congratulations and enjoy the break it’s Defo a sign
Hi emu! Good luck with your trip and so pleased you get to kind of have a holiday out of it! When going abroad, how many trips do you have to do? Obviously in England you have tests and consultations and lots of scans and then the procedures so I just can't imagine the logistics of going abroad and the cost of flights and accommodation and the time it takes to travel versus England? X
My clinic is linked to one in Leeds. So I only have to go out for treatment. I do know that some women go out once before treatment to their clinics and it works well for them. xx
Wishing u all the best hunny, this is ur time, positive thinking all the way, and I agree it was a sign to spend an extra few days relaxing, stocking up on vitamin d, and when u come this far and have already emptied mr Bank several times, what the heck is an extra few hundred, that’s the way I look at it, it’s weird I don’t even think about what we have spent now, just feel this wee one wriggling around inside me, and I could never put a price tag on he/or she, good luck keeping everything crossed xx💋💋
You are right, the £300 must seem like nothing when you count up (with head in your hands) how much you’ve actually spent on this journey. My OH’s favourite game is to list all the holidays and fun things we could have done with the 6k we have already spent and we’ve not even bought our donor sperm or paid for our first IUI yet😩. But it will all be worth it eventually!
I must. Admit your hubby sounds like my grandad I remember grandma always arguing with him about being tight 🤣 he's a Yorkshire man born and bred too.
Just wanted to wish you luck lovely and vitd deficiency so common over here after you've finished the tablets invest in some drops to keep it at optimum levels that's what I did after my vit d tablets had finished just recently got my levels checked and they've stayed at good levels.
