I had a similar situation, all my drugs turned up and I was told to take the pill for 21 days. It was so frustrating and stressful but I did it, went for my baseline scan and I’m actually on day 3 of injecting myself . It was a tough couple of weeks wait but now I’m on meds and hopefully having egg collection on Friday. I have everything crossed for you x
No problem at all . I was so upset, frustrated, took time off work, stressed, a nightmare to live as I was so focused on that baseline scan but to be told I had to then wait and take the pill for 3 weeks ... I just couldn’t believe it but it worked so I have everything crossed it will for you 💗 each day is a day closer to the next step xx
Yes that happened to me. I was taking suprecur to down reg. And went for my scan and found I had a huge cyst on my ovary . I was so upset because it felt like forever to get started . After that then we had another setback. I have a high amh so they gave me a low dose of stimulating drugs and I only had one egg. So it was cancelled and I had to start all over again. I started in September and finished in February and now I have 18 month old beautiful twin girls. Ivf is an emotional and long journey but you'll get there in the end. Lots of love and luck to you xxx
I had that. They wanted me on the pill for 2 months to ensure the cysts were gone in the end, mine was tricky to get rid of. With the womb lining thickening I had to eventually really speak up for myself and ask for a short protocol. I was finding that my body wasn’t responding to the down regs and each time we got to baseline I had a thick lining and had already started to form follicles..... I said “why are we not starting straight away, why are you putting me on the down regs?”.... I had to have another consultation but they agreed to try a short protocol which worked brilliantly.
I was annoyed because I’m not a doctor so I didn’t understand their was another option. The cyst also confused matters because it was a different issue to the fact I’d stopped responding to buseralin. They first tried me on injections rather than the nasal spray and that was another few months wasted. We wasted a whole year messing around when we could’ve just tried the short protocol earlier but because we hadn’t no consultation, nothing was changed. Needless to say I complained.
The pill will definitely work to get rid of the cyst but they’ll want you in for a scan before they start you on down regs. For me everything was perfect at that point and they say “ok to start down regs then” by baseline I’d started to ovulate and we’d start all over again.
Don’t want it to happen to anyone else so if you find it happens to you, get an appointment with the consultant sooner rather than later and remember that short protocol is an option. It’s not right for everyone but the consultant should be able to advise. I was doing Chinese whispers between the nurses and the consultant and it was always just start long protocol again. When I asked why they’d done this, they said “because that what the last consultant prescribed”......... surely when things go to pot you reasses?! Apparently not, not until the patient gets proactive.
