Looking to get some information on donating my eggs for people? I’ve emailed some clinics asking for further information and scrolled through Google gathering information too but still don’t 100% understand how it works, would love to help people out ❤️ X

Is it the physical process you want to understand or more info on the practicalities?

I don't have any information for you but wanted to say what a lovely thing you wanting to donate your eggs is. It's an amazing gesture to help people out in this way 😘 xx

Hi Danielle, what a wonderful and generous thing to do. I hope one day to find a known donor, who like you is wanting to help another family become parents :) I know a little about the basic process, but you can get much more detailed info from the HFEA, the National Gamete Donation Trust, or your preferred clinic. Physically donation is the same as IVF (up to the point of egg collection), and you can get the same side effects from the medicines.

If you would like to donate altruistically (in the UK that means that the recipient doesn't know your identity - but when a child born of donation turns 18 they can apply to the HFEA to find out the name and basic details of their donor), then you will need to register with a fertility clinic or donor agency so they can match you. They will provide information and ask you to complete some forms. Then you visit the clinic for some medical/blood tests and counselling, to make sure you understand how the process works, the possible side effects of treatment etc, along with the legal side of donation. After these steps the clinic will match you with someone on their waiting list before treatment starts.

Check with the clinic but I've read that if you check back with them you can find out the outcome if a baby has been born to the recipient family.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your journey. I think it is a very kind gift you are considering giving :) A family will thank you every day for giving them the chance to be parents.

Don’t have any advice just wanted to say what a wonderful thing to do. I have just found out I’m 4wk 3 days pregnant from donor eggs and can’t thank our donor enough for giving us this opportunity. It’s such an amazing thing to be able to do for others. I hope you can find the help and advice you need from the wonderful ladies on here. And I wish you the best of luck.
