Good Morning

I’ve not posted on here recently as I thought I’d never be thinking of IVF treatment again its already giving me anxiety

Reason for my post is I may have the opportunity for egg donation but still with my partner but I’m not sure whether using the UK clinic or aboard clinic is the best option mainly due to cost plus I’m very nervous and scared as when I used my own eggs last year resulted in two miscarriages.

Any advise on clinics that you could recommendation please any details would be appricated and other advise

Thanks for reading 😊

I completely understand your anxiety and nerves—it’s such a big decision. My partner and I went through something similar after multiple attempts with my own eggs, and it felt like we were at the end of the road. After a lot of thought, counseling, and support, we chose donor eggs and it brought us our baby.

We went to a clinic in North Cyprus, and the experience was truly positive. I know the decision between UK or abroad can be tough, but exploring your options and speaking to professionals might help ease some of the worry.

Wishing you the best with whatever path you choose. xx

Thanks so much for your reply, yeah its a big decision. We have definitely not made a definite but just looking at cost etc. How did you have to stay for the treatment?

We had most tests done in the UK before the DE itself. Stayed in North Cyprus for 12 days (it could be shorter but we sort of combined it with a mini vacation). Graduated from my clinic at 10 weeks. :)

we chose to go to Spain for ours. One of the questions to ask yourself is whether you would like anonymous or not. As along with the costs that’s one of the main differences between uk and abroad. We went abroad due to costs and waiting times in the uk xxx

thanks for your reply, I’ve been looking at a few clinics in Spain

Please would you mind sending me the details of the clinic you used.

How long did you have to stay for? xx

We went to Prague.

My decision was based on how easy was to get to the place, and clinic.

Not only the flight but the accommodation and once we were on the airport how to get to the clinic costly efficient.

This choice was amazing, from the airport there was a bus, that took me to the metro, and that line was the same where the clinic was. (Very easy and cheap)

Also the attention and place was amazing! My experience in UK was not that great.

But it is important that you consider as well if you want it known or anonymous the donor.

Good luck on this journey

My husband went one day to give his sample after they told us the donor was ready (I could not go). He stayed one night.

Then we waited 5 days to see how many embryos we got (some people stayed the 5 days there for the transfer ) but I went by myself for the transfer (2 months later as I needed some tests in UK) and stayed 3 nights as I read the first week is they most important and you should stay from the bed to the sofa to the chair and rotate….I enjoyed the hotel…. And it worked!

hi, I used a UK clinic, used frozen eggs and we were very blessed that it worked first time. I wanted an open donor and I didn’t want the logistics of travelling abroad to a clinic xx

we are going through this process and I would recommend you go to Europe. I had bad experiences with UK IVF clinics.

Hi Dragon80I'm currently 27 weeks preggo using DE I'm 46 now and moved at 42 to them. I have experience of both UK and abroad. And would say abroad outshines the UK in every aspect of care. Yes it's annoying the logistics but if you can make it work do. I'm much more comfortable knowing my Donor is anonymous aswell.

If you anxiety is solely based around MC. Have you had any investigations done etc. To rule reasoning out.

My treatment was in Alicante. It's a 2 hour flight and a 20 minute transfer from airport to clinic and the clinic works with hotels and apartments nearby plus can arrange transfers if you wish.

Good luck in your decision xx

Hi ConceivingBlee

Thanks for the your message, yeah it's such a big decision as I was not even thinking about donor eggs but I've been given the opportunity.

My anxiety is both from my previous IVF plus also not really knowing which way to go

I'm sure we'll make a decision soon xx

Have you heard of tandem cycles? Check Dogus in north Cyprus. They can transfer eg one of your eggs and two donor. I guess it means you're giving your body the best chance to select whichever embryos is healthiest and wants to implant.

I guess it only applies if you'd like still like to attempt with OE - but if you think this is unlikely then you can get the option of a DE too.

Xxx

I’m 28 weeks pregnant from a DE. My clinic is in Spain and have been faultless. Unfortunately the UK are very behind in terms of research and success. Just google best countries for IVF….

My clinic is in Alicante. I joined their refun d guarantee programme at 47 and will have my previous little miracle at 48 💖

PM if you want details.

hi - I just about to embark on this journey and we are certain on Spain. Just debating between Clinic Tambre in Madrid or IB in Madrid. Both seem very good 😊

Hi Sarslouise

Thanks for the your reply, I've contacted IB in Madrid but I'll look at the other clinic

How you finding the process of donor eggs 😊

Sarslouise profile image
Sarslouise in reply to Dragon80

So far we’ve booked our flights to Madrid for early Dec - just to do bloods, mammogram and my hubbies sperm ! We are doing a big comparison between IB and Clinic Tambre atm… there are a few differences in packages and also clinic Tambre offers face mapping technology whereas IB does not…. I’ve now got to have the Emma & Alice test, hysteroscopy (I’ve had two miscarriages hence my consultant in UK wants me to do these before doing any transfers).

Hope you are getting on ok!

Feel free to DM me too 😊 x
