Hi Guys

As the title says I have my scratch booked in for tomorrow for my 2nd fresh IVF cycle, can anyone who has had it let me know if it’s painful at all? My partners at work so I will be driving there and back myself will I be ok to do this? Any tips for before and after?

Many Thanks! xx

Im not gonna lie, its not pleasant or mine wasnt great. Take some painkillers around an hour before, I opted for strong ones. Remember to take a pad for after. Most importantly if its painful just bear in mind it is over quickly! I drove to and from mine. The Dr suggested having a seat in the waiting room afterwards and a coffee but I felt ok to drive home afterwards. xx

The word ‘scratch’ is definitely misleading. Although it’s over relatively quickly, I was taken aback when she started counting back from 10! It’s soon forgotten about and not painful afterwards. If I’d have been a bit more prepared I’d have been fine :)

Mine was fine. Over in seconds. You can take paracetamol beforehand. I didn't rally bleed after either. Good luck

As others have said, whilst not the most pleasant experience, it's not too bad and is over with quite quickly. Our clinic advised taking a couple of paracetamols an hour before the appointment time and give you gas and air should you need it during the procedure - a few puffs on that and I'm away with the fairies so don't particularly notice what they're doing!! x

Full bladder! It’s uncomfortable but honestly will make it much quicker and easier. Take a couple of paracetamol an hour before too. Good luck xx

Hi I took strong painkillers about an hour beforehand which really helped. It’s over very quickly. I’ve had it twice now and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Was a wee bit dizzy and slightly nauseous afterwards on one occasion but it passed quickly enough. Very best of luck xx

Hi

I managed to drive there and OH drove back. Maybe they didn't do it right but I didn't have any pain. Hope it goes well and has the desired effect xx
